M35 Stagea transmission

im looking at a 2001 300rx, the guy is saying it is slow when engaging gears when putting your foot down to over take but is fine when driving normally, is this just a thing of needing more oil or is there a big problem with the trans?

Just avoid it or be prepared to out a new transmission in.... These cars are exxy enough without buying one with problems. Unless it's dirt cheap i guess and you don't mind mucking around with it. And a 300 as well? Meh. More interesting if it was a 350.

It's highly unlikely that it just needs oil.

i hasve started looking at the prices of a new trans, the car is $2000 NZD, and yeah ,just a 300, but havent actually seen any 350s, still bettter than a 250 i guess

Putting your foot down to overtake is driving normally. If there was an easy fix it would have been done. Heaps of 350s for sale.

Or here's a cheap (high mileage) 250 turbo. Worth a look!
