Shitloads of stuff, speak to your local tuner.

You'll need ext wastegate, different manifold. You'll definetly need ecu, fuel pump and most likely better clutch, bigger intercooler, z32 air flow meter or equiv.

Thats of course assuming the turbo is bigger (being ext gate is probably is) and you plan to run a crapload more air flow then your current stock turbo. ie you wont be running 7psi on the ext gate turbo im assuming. its not the boost thats the problem its the airflow generated by runing the amonut of boost. of course if you want to run just 7psi and have an external gate setup then you should only need ext gate and manifold, ask a tuner

no im considering getting a new garrett turbo that needs an external gate an just want 2 know wat it is going 2 cost me 2 modify my manifold 2 suit the external gate...??

nothing if you do it yourself or know someone who can weld

Since he doesent know what an external gate is to begin with i highly doubt he will have the knowledge to do a new turbo setup himself.

Unless you are planning on going all out with new injectors/fuel pump/afm/clutch/ecu etc etc i wouldnt bother as the turbo you are getting will be somewhere in the 500-600hp range coz its an external gate turbo. If the turbo was smaller then they wouldnt bother making it external gate

i know of an S14 with the stock T28, that has had the manifold modified, and stock internal wastegate welded shut, and an external wastegate added. don't know if its worth the trouble or not but the car has run a 12.5.

R33_KRAZY first have to ask, why do you want to run an external wastegate? To hold boost better, to vent it to atmosphere or what?

nah just because i plan to make my car FAST an POWERFULL....an they sound awsome an i got a really reallt cheap offer on a brand new garrett 500HP turbo..but it needs an external wastegate an i wanted 2 know what it would cost me all up so i could see if it was worth my while or not..?? an live n farm an know how 2 weld preety damn good...just need to know how i need 2 modify it..has anyone got any pictures of there setup...i intend to use a turbosmart pro-gate...so if any1 can give me a diagram or plans or just picstures on what 2 do then it would be much appreciated...thanx

ohh well that suks then....dammit....well how bout i just make it sound good an tough....

nah i intend 2 get this thing going hard..so i dont wanna waste money so this is y i want 2 get the right turbo setup from the start....but 4 interest sake how much would it cost 4 a custom manifold to suit this external wastegate setup..?? any help much appreciated

    • Yeh... literally every time i jump on a forum, see an instagram post or see an engine bay at a car show, i get an idea and add it to my 'to do' list. So what started off as, hey can u just make a couple of intake hard pipes because my dumbass bought the wrong apexi kit, blew out into a 2 week job including braided brake lines & custom bash kit for the front lip haha.  Getting Luke from A4E engineering to make a full custom exhaust with a controllable aes dump valve so i can actually switch between quiet and loud, because right now its just loud all day every day. Then after that go and get the tune redone flex e85 & 98 as i get bugger all milage from e85, makes going for longer drivers difficult
    • Car looks clean as. You ended up getting quite a bit done 馃槀  So what's the plan for the exhaust?
    • The only Neo rods that were any different to any other RB25 rods were the DET ones, and they were the same as RB26. Here is a Neo DET rod. O5U part number visible. Here is a post in a thread here on SAU with evidence from someone who has done this before. There are photos in the thread of normal RB25 rods.
    • Sure, but why assume that will be the case forever? And why assume you'll be able to do an oil change to swap back to a stock drain bolt before that happens? And does it even matter when I change the oil at fairly short intervals? Life can be funny sometimes and unexpected things can happen. Like breaking a collarbone so you can't do any work on your car for a few months but the oil change is due so you have to take it to somewhere and hope they don't do something stupid like stacking the new drain plug washer on top of the old one.
    • Do u know how to identify the rods are rb25 or neo ones? Can u look into the pics and tell me is they de or de neo ones. Its confusing becoz my motor has de neo head but block is 25de 75t, so really confusing me about rods, crank.
