Hi all

just needing some help.

i have an R33 GTR that was put away for nearly a year at the painters and when I got the car back it would run really rich (standard ecu, so the run a bit rich anyway)

but this thing is running super rich and poor Ung fuel in once it got warm , to the point that last week when I drove the car , any lift or feathering of the throttle resulted in massive backfire through the exhaust.

Drove a little further and the car idled at 1200-1500 rpm till a few minutes later it stalled and wouldn’t restart.

Had it with the mechanic for a week and he cannot find the fault be confirmed it just pours fuel in once warm to the point it fouls plugs in around 500 meters of driving.

any help on this would be appreciated as I am totally frustrated trying to work it out

symptoms of f**ked Air Flow Meters.

My old 33R did the same - would drive fine when cooler - once it was warm it would start doing random misfires, shuddering etc.  Replaced the AFM's and was back to driving like new.

I would guess they became dirty / flowed sitting in a dusty paint shop for a year.

Assuming you still have AFM's that is.
