2013 V37 / Q50 Hybrid - battery life

Hi guys,

I saw a second hand hybrid Q50 that was a 2013 model.

It got me wondering, whats the deal with the batteries in these things now that they are 5 years old?  Do they still work OK just hold less charge / use more petrol?

How does it all work?

Don't know for sure, but I expect you should be seeing closer to 10 years before you start to have any issues.  Even then, I doubt you would notice much as the cells start to degrade.  It would probably be more of an issue when you start seeing individual cells completely fail, as that is likely to throw fault codes and shut down the electric motor side of things.

Maybe price up a new Battery and put that into "future" cost to the car.
