Hi just bought a power fc code Ecr  010 000

its got no controller. so i unplugged batery plugged in power fc .its kicking but not starting. air con works fans heater stereo ect so i was under the impression everything goes through ecu so if they work does that mean ecu works and just needs to be tuned . ive got 555 injectors z32 map waiting to go in and high flowed turbo with dumppipe. At the moment its got 3 inch exhaust , pod filter , boost controller, stealth intercooler, does it need to be remapped, thats why its not starting cause might have a previous owners maps. any advice would be appreciated thankyou.20180610_154051.thumb.jpg.e4f120b4a2545b7e733ac1853cc5bbf2.jpg

oh and i forgot to say that its a gtst series 1 basically a ecr33 thats why i thought the code was correct for my vehicle. also cars stock except for exhaust ,podfilter ,coilovers . i have ready to install z32 map, highflowed turbo,dumppipe,555 nismo injectors side fed, stealth intercooler,

so should car start or is anyway to test to see if works can you buy a usb com cable and run a program on laptop to see its working ect, please any help dont want to book tuners only to cop a cucumber half way through the session discovering power fc is stuffed. again thanks for any help would be appreciated.

definitely not that easy. without knowing what the previous tune spec was for certain there are a heap of settings that could be wrong enough for it not to start. or it could be damaged or dead.

you really need to borrow a hand controller, or take it to a tuner who has datalogit or similar. if you don't expect to keep the tune it is reasonably easy to reset to factory with the hand controller which should let it start and run temporarily with those mods.

Thanks Dunkan appreciate any knowledge regarding the ecu, does anyone know someone in sydney that tunes apexi power fc to an auto box, im getting a manuel valve kit after i get car tuned this week as it will be near 650 for kit plus couple hundred to install,i dont mind manuel shifting for a few weeks,

i know for a fact there are r33 gtst that are auto running on an apexi fc. but thats in Adelaide mv autos recommended a few guys that do it, problem is im in Sydney . I going to go  see unigroup but i still have not spoke regarding the auto gearbox and the apexi ecu. i also have an apexi air flow converter but the power and still cost same to tune so hoping somone knows anyone who tunes auto r33 gtst to apexi power fc. thankyou guys.

well personally I'd go to Unigroup and have been for years. But surely anyone can tune a PFC.

Re the auto, you can't tune a PFC for an auto as such. You just get a normal tune, and then the auto decides to change gear the PFC will not cut the timing to make the shift smoother like a factory ECU would. Theoretically that is bad for the auto, I have no idea how well it works in practice. But if the guys who did your valve kit are happy to warrant the work with a PFC then why worry?

thanks i guess il find out after the tune this week . Evan at Unigroup didnt say he couldnt do it so i spose if i dont leave in drive and change gears myself it will work ok untold i install shift kit. Like i said if i had money to do both at once i would but i just spent 5 k respray and everything needed for setup i have.il write more after the tune and il show dynos too maybe other people interested to see outcome of auto r33gtst.

    • You've just discovered a really good reason to tell yourself, yes, I do need to buy an aftermarket ECU. Put the MAF in the bin. Slap in the new ECU and have a think about what turbo sounds you prefer.  Do you want a 90's style BOV wooosh? Do you want a hektik tsututututu?  Mate, can't go wrong. Just gotta get that ECU and the world is your oyster.
    • Hi. Iam just curisou about this topic. I saw this video. It is about Greddy Type FV2. I know that BoVs are about that sound but how and when to use it? I read some topic here and from what i have understand on stock RB with MAF there will be some "problems" if you use this BoV? It vents the air in to the atmosphere and the MAF on stock car needs this air back in to the intake and not out? Or is it wrong? If so...i saw you can put some adaptor to circule air back...but does that not "loose" that sound? I saw another BoV from Turbosmart and it has two "exhaust" like ports? One is for the stock tubing for letting air back and one is for "sound" and let the air in the atmosphere? Can someone please explain? This is the Greddy one:  And this is the Turbosmart.     THANK YOU!! EDIT: So i read about this topic some more and i if i understand that correctly: That Greddy can function either like BoV or 100% Bypass valve? And that Turbosmart is what they called hybrid so you can adjust what and how many air can be vented out or back in? Is this right? THX!
    • That dirty voltage drop is the culprit I suspect
    • i cant get them all in 1 screenshot unfortunately as i just dont know how to move things around tbh, but they are all from the same log and the line crosses at the same point for all of them
    • It's about time I start work on my sun tan. So I knocked up a few parts that will all combine together to become my new power steering reservoir. Now just to produce an abundance of UV and IR rays while melting a heap of bits of alu to become one... Well, that's after I put one more hole in it for the return line to plumb to. It likely won't be this weekend, as Sunday I'm meant to be in doing some last minute stuff to the AMG race car, and the weekend after will be filled with non my Skyline stuff, followed by Bathurst 6 hour. So I don't expect to get to melt metal for at least 3 weeks.   I also managed to stuff up and start cutting the hole for the res to pump pipe on the wrong side of the line... It means instead of the lines being nice and tight against the inner guard, they'll be out off the guard.    The size of it means I should end up with about 1.8L of power steering fluid, and still have space for another half a litre before it reaches the overflow/breather. This is wayyyyyyy more capacity than factory, which should help keep Powersteer oil temps lower, and the design hopefully allows it to prevent any aerated oil being able to makes its way down to the bottom as it'll have a couple of baffles and some hopeful trickery to force air bubbles away from the bottom.
