GTSBoy
To be fair, the halal term can probably only be applied to old Microtechs. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/474392-hallaltronic/#findComment-7879831 Share on other sites
Leroy Peterson
I wonder what that means... Adaptronic to become an entry level haltek? Or halaltec going to use some features or tech from Adaptronic in their own products? The 2 brands seem to have a lot of overlap in terms of plug n play options. Kinkstaah
Yep, does seem like a strange acquisition due to the above. Though both ECU's did sort of do "more" than most people ever utilized. Would be nice to have a "basic" option for a more cut price new offering for ECU's. GTSBoy
I think the gains are less in the space of their respective ranges or range overlap. I think there's 2 things going on here. Adaptronic was always going to be limited in its ability to continue to support an ever expanding customer base with such a small team. By the same token, their business was probably never going to be large enough (in terms of annual sales) to support a larger team. So there comes a natural limit to how good the product can be, if you can't continue to spend as much time on developing the next product while trying to support existing product. Haltech are somewhat larger, already having made the leap over that hurdle. They have good people and good (business, support) systems, but they don't have Andy (from Adaptronic, natch). They bring Andy & Adaptronic on board and they now have access to someone who is really really clever to provide more input into the Haltech range (as in, over and above the guys already working on it), plus he has better time to devote to the Adaptronic products and the larger Haltech team can help unload the Adaptronic team when it comes to support. With the passage of time the two brands may eliminate some or all of the overlap, leaving each to target the market segments that they work best at. Where there is overlap, the pricing will have to be sorted out so that the value proposition makes sense. Some people might think that it is worth paying less for a product that has to have expansion boxes strapped onto it, whereas others might think that if there's less in the main box but the capacity to expand it has been designed in, that it is a feature worth paying a little extra for. That sort of logic. It's a massive challenge for any merger/acquisition. Dose Pipe Sutututu
Andy commented on Guild of EFI and said Halal's kebab support department will do all the sales/support and Andy will have more time for R&D. Who knows, Haltech could plug into Adaptronic's canbus network so you don' t need to buy external WBO2 controllers and TC amps lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/474392-hallaltronic/#findComment-7879922 Share on other sites
