There's a few different types of Redline g'box oils, Shockproof Lightweight is probably the best option for the R33 GTS25t g'box.

Redline gear lubricants

For a full rundown have a read here - www.redlineoil.com

The Aussie site isn't much good but here it is www.redlineoil.com.au

Is any one using the redline oil, what benefits did it give over stock type oil??

Whats it worth??

I have had it in for a few weeks now, heaps better than the previous oil. my 'box used to crunch shift from 3rd to 4th under load, it has cleared that right up. Everyone who has used it seems to swear by the stuff, only complaints I have heard is from people who have used the really lightweight stuff

Also says on the container that its good for 400,000kms, so the price tag of jsut under $100 is well worth it IMO. Only need one container, and oyu will have a little bit left over from 1 Gallon

VMX80 is "NO WHERE NEAR" as good as Shockproof. I've used VMX80 , Motul and Redline in my g'box and the Redline is so much better than the others it's not funny! $100-120 isn't "that" much to spend, it's not like you have to change it every 5000km (although I usually do). Most people blow $100 on a night out.

Edit: Oops forgot to add... yes, Castrol VMX80 will be ok.

I have been running lightweight shockproof oil for a year now and it is bloody fantastic. Last I paid for a 4lt container was about $130 - and I change it every 10,000km. It completely eliminates the old S15 box problem of clunking/sticking from 1st to 2nd gear change at high revs. Highly recommended. Last I bought it from the rally shop on Magill road (might be the place Matt is referring to).

Yeah that's the one Andrew. I use to pay $103 for it from PPG ~3yrs ago.

Happy b'day too dude. You're almost as old as me, in another couple of years you'll BE the same age as me (I've stopped having b'days so I don't get any older) :P
