R32 GTR brake master cylinder leak

Hey everyone,

 

Haven't driven the car in a few months and noticed brake fluid leaking from this hole from the master cylinder. Is this normal after not driving it for a while or is it time to replace it?

Same thing has started on mine just recently. Have been topping up fluid and cleaning and drips off regularly. It doesn’t seem to leak quickly at all but I’m replacing it with a new one once I get funds. I read they can be rebuilt too but haven’t found much to back this up

Putting a stainless sleeve into a master along with a new seal kit takes a couple of hours at a brake specialist.

Yeah JJ have the kit for about 50 bucks if you are keen to do it yourself or get it to a specialist as mentioned above. Or for piece of mind grab a newbie OEM from Kudos, think 400 delivered or close to.

Don't leave it dripping as brake fluid will trash your paintwork.

Pull it apart and clean it - if the bore is smooth and not pitted you can fit a kit but if its rough take it to a brake specialist as above and they can re-sleeve it.

Thanks for all your help! I've since cleaned and put a rag underneath the leak to make sure it doesn't run down onto the paint.

Will take it apart and see what we have!
