Seat Fitting

I am wondering if when fitting aftermarket seats do they sit at the same height as standard. I would like to be able to lower the the seat an inch or so. I guess I could make something myself but may not be covered by Insurance so would like to fit with approved attachments.

How much lower do you think it sits. Im considering buying a Recaro with the hope it would be lower. Im looking for an inch or so. Does yours have aftermarket rails or does it fit on the origonals. Any chance you want to sell it. I should have tried it out at the Dyno day. Any chance of catching up before the weekend so I can. I live Para Hills way where are you. PM me if you like.

Thats a link to the rta, they dont really say to much about seats, though i have been told that you have to engineer the mounts if they are to be replaced with aftermarket, i would call the rta to make sure.

Oh and alot of the time the RTA tech line guys are not sure what can be done or not so you may even want to talk to an aproved engineer, there is a list of them on the RTA site.

What's the going rate on fancy seats like Recaro and Sparco?

Not the racing ones (with the racing seatbelts), ones like that come with the road version of the Lancer Evo or the Skyline GTRs.
