It'll be crap to drive but make lots of power on a 2.6, those turbos are more suited to 2.8-3.0l

Whats his power goal? Drag spec or street?

Garret themselves state the turbos are no good on a mild 2.6

I wonder how they would go on a highly modified 2.6L in place of my -5's.

Probably far to laggy.

Should be okay on a high revving 2.6, even still -5s on e85 would be better

To the OP: Better off getting HKS 2530 or -5s if he is staying on twins.

I am getting some -5’s upgraded by MMP turbos to bring them into the 21’st century. Ceramic bearings and modern turbine and compressor wheels. Am expecting a combination of better response and a broader power band.

Luke is super keen to share his knowledge and see how he can make the turbo best suit your goals.

What compressor turbine wheel are they using?

I’ll need to get some more technical details as I’m not exactly certain. Turbos being sent off next week.

Image below of ones prepared last year for a customer.

I already have the turbosmart IWG75 actuators on my current -7’s with a 20psi base pressure, so once bolted onto a mildly ported head with some higher lift cams it should make some stout numbers.

That is real interesting.  Please post before and after results.

I might talk to a well respected Turbo builder in NZ and see if he ca do similar before I go for a tune.

As I’m changing turbos, cams and getting the heads ported I don’t feel there will be an accurate comparison but here is the results of my current set up.

Highflowed -7’s

kelford 264 8.9 Cams

plazmaman 76mm intercooler

This is what I've been talking about doing with the turbo guru here in S.A I believe...

Basically taking some -5's and putting billet wheels into them...?!?
