Hey Guys so i finally got my dream car, the first car that i ever took notice of in my life, might get some shit off this but it was when paul walkers skyline poped onto the tv screen and i fell in love with the car, and here i am with my very own. Decided to name it Gigan named after one of the monsters in the Godzilla Universe, was going to go with Ghidorah but the name doesnt fit the number plate if i were to get one from my plates, here are pictures below, hopefully they are not terrible.

Front what i was able to find out on the vin plate, the paint is original, this is a 2001 25GT GTV Series 2 (I dont know if the GTV Series 2 means anything) with 119xxx on the clock with an NA Neo Engine, Most of the car is stock, The Exhaust hasnt been touched,  Front bumper is after market, Aftermarket Head Unit With Sub in Boot, Aftermarket enclosed box and pod filter, came with the original Maintenance Note, with Japanese manuals and infomation, (Kenwood, mine is jvc head unit, Viper security and a notebook) The guy who i bought it off threw in a Big aftermarket GT wing, short shifting kit, he put about 4 grand into it before he let it go to me, (New heavy duty clutch) He genuinely loved it and now its my job to do the same, any and all feedback would be appriciated.

*Questions* Thought id get these out of the way so i dont pollute any other forums with questions done to death so if anyone ventures onto this thread they might be able to help me out*

I put the vin through gtr registry and the vin says its turbo at the start then later on it says its not turbo, does this mean its turbo ready or something?

Are the S Badges on this car actual skyline badges or are they silvia or aftermarket badges (Refer to steering wheel and the bottom of the engine photo for S badge on the mesh.

The left hand side of my boot is more open than the right side and i dont want any moisture in there (Refer to close up boot photo) Any suggestions?

Are there any cost efficient styling tips would anyone recommend, i quite like the black on blue look

Getting alot of shit for my gutter rashed wheels, would you guys have any recommendations for replacement rims

The Enclosed box stuck out to some, under investigation the bottom of it has a hole smaller than the actual air piping to the engine so it doesnt look like its sucking in enough air, any ideas would be appriciated here (Has a pod filter in it)

Some engine parts are heat wrapped, i dont know if this is beneficial or not as its supposed to keep heat out but wouldnt that keep heat in? Just a jab, any thoughts

GTR registry not necessarily going to get the details of non-GTRs correct.  It's NA.  It always was.  There is no such thing as "turbo ready".  Note, as pre-warning, that most of us here will advise you not to consider turboing the car, on the basis that it is better, easier and cheaper to just buy a turbo car.

That's the Skyline logo.

You talking about the panel gap?  Won't affect moisture entry.  The car may have been damaged and repaired - without enough care paid to getting it straight enough to make the panel gaps look nice.  Will need inspection by a crash repairer if you want a good opinion on what the condition of it is.

Don't listen to anyone giving you shit.  You could just get the lips of your existing wheels cleaned up.  Otherwise, I recommend Enkei RPF-1, in black, as the bestest, lightest, non-expensive wheel.

That is a shitty pod enclosure.  I would f**k the whole lot off for a factory airbox. You won't ever need more than that.  That pod will be worse than factory.

The exhaust manifold is wrapped.  And it IS intended to keep the heat in the exhaust and not let it out into the engine bay.  This is a good thing.  Do not change it.

Here's a pro tip.  These forums have been running for more than 20 years.  Every question has been asked before.  There are thousands of hours of reading available on here.  Search, and ye shall find.

I've PM'd OP about this. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time ensuring everything is accurate so I want to check this out.

OP thought the T in the model code meant Turbo but it means 25GT Turbo (GTT), GT-V. Car is listed as RB20DE.

Yeah GT-V's are kinda neat, I remember reading about them from my P-plate days haha

From memory, it had all the GTT brakes, suspension etc which might explain the GTT notation in the vin code.

Not to poke holes, but what did the VIN say your original colour was? I didn't know Bayside Blue was ever offered on ER34s from factory.

TV2, from GTR registry if i read it right mine was 1 of 302 GTV 2 Series model to get Bayside blue as its factory color so yeah definitely happy for this car to pop up as it is, thanks for explaining a bit about GTV's couldnt find much out about them

TV2 was available in all version of R34; HR34, ENR34, ER34 and of course BNR34. A total of 898 TV2 ER34s were produced across all countries.

    • For sure the later RB26 variants had a different setup (6 cam voltage sender?), but the RB25DE/DET share the same ECU pinout/PCB footprint, and at the ECU plug it ends up being 'throttle sensor in' & 'throttle sensor out' (to A/T TCU) ...you stick a multimeter on these pins and you'll find them directly connected (0 ohms) ; I had an pair of Nissan ECUs on the bench long ago, and I noticed this throttle sensor in/out link, actually linked to an op-amp ...which was unpopulated on the NA board, but present on the T board and I went 'ah-ha!' in some moment of clarity... ...it wouldn't surprise me if they changed strategy here though (in the software and actual monitoring of this signal), because they did with other stuff (A/T signals).. and 0.45v as a trigger point makes sense, as that's what the external TCU units expect at idle ; kudos, thanks for that insight...I suppose it boils down to whether or not Consult can display real time data of that signal's voltage... ...in any event, it presents the same target...ie; rotate TPS unit to achieve 0.45v to suit both ECU&TCU, and where do you goto from there? Just disconnect TPSwitch connector and/or that plus TPSensor connector....or do you go for the throat and disconnect IACV solenoid and see if it still stalls? (probably throws a recoverable fault code and goes for default idle strategy?)...
    • I’m also conscious that e85 is slowly being phased out. Not all United’s have them anymore. Can’t take the risk of being low on petrol and assuming the servo will have it.
    • MR HAMMER has said his piece. Painted up to avoid Rusty Rusty. Actually lines up well. (i.e it lines up the same as the unmolested GTR guard). Turns out the GTR Strut brace does foul on the bonnet vents ever so slightly. May need a little bendy bendy if intended to keep using with a strut brace. So spacing it out to clear the FAST102 is not an option. Annoyingly, the bonnet vents also foul on the heater lines running over the engine. Given this engine does not EVER require a heater, a delete loop is going to be used. Don't worry, the defogger uses the AC. The heater is basically "Do not use the aircon and turn the fan on". It will still be effective, I promise.... once I get the system regassed... Will have to revisit with unvented bonnet I suppose, and suitable strut brace. There's plans to do this and other things tonight and bleed brakes (there was a weep) and put the bumper back on, and take Good Friday morning - Because troubleshooting on the side of the road limping it home at midnight tonight is ... not very smart.
    • Thank you all for you assistance. I contacted Nistune regarding the support for the RB20DE along with my ECU Code (23710-10U00). They do have a map for it and added the RB20DE as a purchasable option now as well. They also added Malta as a Billing and Delivery options as this was missing. I was honestly amazed at their quick response and action, it took less than 24 hours. I also looked again at direct fit options for injectors, just in case I were to replace them. DeatschWerks seem to use a Bosch EV14 base and makes ones that fit mine at 440cc lowest, but also have 550cc at the same price. I tried looking for other direct fit options and managed to find one (also Bosch EV14 based) which includes a plug and play adapter on ebay. Did a small test with a Noid Light on the troubled injectors and all seems good, so they are pulsing properly electrically. One weird part is that they are missing on the same two cylinders as before I got the injectors cleaned. Mechanic also found this weird as he did not label the injectors and it is unlikely to have the faulty injectors be installed in the same cylinders.
