Engine breather

Hi guys,

currently in the market for an r33 gtst, have found a car which has a filter breather fitted in the rubber hose which goes across the front of the valve cover. Is this representative of an issue?

Ask what it is there for. It may well be one of those pointless "mods" that people do without understanding or it may be an indication of excessive blow by. Do a compression test to check the rings.
