Hi guys,

have purchased a 19 row oil cooler but van’t ser any holes for the sensors as it only has an input and output

so my question is , can i used a sandwich on sandwich plate so one for cooler first and then one for sensors?

two, does the oil cooler has entry/ exit port so have to connect the pipes in specific way or no?

So oil cooler installed and mounted

next is the an fitting with braided line

does anyone have any experience with these fittings?

i have not shaved off the braided line before pushing it into the fitting, see pic below .

is that ok?

does the pipe head need to sit flush and spotless with the nut or will it get pulled it once tightened? I don’t have a vice so that is as much as it goes

also i have cut the pipe in half and below is best i could achive which is not straight but almost there

any suggestions?

Watch youtube videos on how to do it for the same series hose you are using.  The Skid Factory videos are some of the best for this.  Somewhere in the middle of the Bedford van series, or possibly one of the earlier series, Al spent a lot of time showing how to do this.  If you do not do it right, you will get a shit result.  If you have half arsed that one ^, then it's probably throw away and start again.

You need a vice and/or the proper tools.

  • 3 weeks later...

I did and it worked for 40 mins before popping and draining engine oil. I was lucky as switched off straight away

with mechanic to do it using vice grips

are you not meant to bend the pipe and use a 90 degree an ?

i had two 90 degree elbow which was fine on the oil cooler side and two straight which was fine but had to create a 180 bend so it lead to one popping

are you meant to remove the whole braided metal bit before inserting?
