Hey guys,

My car died in the city yesterday at Flinders st. Tried to jump it, nothing. Fuel pump was priming, so I thought may be the AFM, unplugged it and it started.

Limped it home and starting tearing it apart, tried a working AFM - nothing, front bumper off and checked all intercooler pipes - nothing, fuel rail hose off and turned car into on position - plenty of fuel comes out, pulled plugs - fouled and wet.

Have changed plugs and still nothing, read the fault code and it comes up as 12 for AFM.

Can I assume that it’s getting fuel since plugs were wet to rule out injectors and pump?

 Anything else I should try?

Thanks.

So I’ve been told it may be the AFM wiring/plug, I’ve got my hands on a multimeter but unsure what to do. Can’t really tell what colour the wires are since I’m colourblind. I’ll start by checking for continuity on the pins in the plug, but not sure if it’s with ignition on or off, any help appreciated.

Many thanks.

The code could be cause you unpluged the maf/afm.
Do a hard reset and check for faults after attempting to start it again.

The wires do get hot and can go bad but usually from movement because they have hardend and gone brittle.

Any spark?
