ohh and am i gonna experience any lack of acceleration if i leave the wastegate open??? besides the lack of turbo like will it affect the rest of the engine??? thanks for ur help guys

Are these serious questions or are you having a lend of us?

Go to www.google.com and start reading about turbos and engines... Then come back here with some reasonably intelligent questions please...

ATM mate, your making an idiot out of yourself IMHO... You have asked for advice but you don't seem to listen...

Your questions indicate to me that you don't know jack about engines / turbos / cars... Seriously where are these questions coming from???

strutto, thats a bit harsh isnt it? poor guy is trying to learn and there are a few posts here that arent really serious. It can be hard to know what is truth and what is fiction today - especially when there are so many 'experts' out there who all swear by different things.

getrippedoff, the wastegate bypasses around the turbine wheel of the turbo, the turbine wheel is spun by exhaust gasses that in turn spins the compressor wheel (at the front of the turbo) and creates boost.

If you disconnect the wastegate actuator, the exhaust gasses will take the path of least resistance, ie, go around the turbine wheel, thereby you will have no boost:)

Oil supply and water cooling having nothing to do with the wastegate, it is quite safe and easy to do as Joel recommended - and it will achieve what you are after with minimum work.

Probably...

It's just when I read all his posts (in the other couple of threads as well), I get the distinct impression that it doesn't matter what advice we give him, he will do what he wants anyway, draw his own conclusions and make poor choices...

Either way getrippedoff, what Steve is saying is correct... you would be wise to listen to him... Sometimes with internet forums, you have to filter the good information from the bad... The only way to do this successfully IMO is to have a good understanding of the topic at hand to begin with...

Go do some reading about how all this "stuff" works and you will be in a better position to make good / wise choices...

That better Steve???

yeah i am still learning heaps...sorry if sometimes i ask stupid questions i've just noticed how much u guys know that's all. i ask half the questions because people swear by other things they tell me...thanks for the straight answer though helped heaps...i'll try to answer some of my own questions first through reading other stuff first...
