just wanted to know if it is illegal to put a racing/sports steering wheel onto a car with a drivers airbag?

yep... totally, violates ADR safety rule thingy... something along the lines of: No manufacturer safety devices may be removed for locally registered vechicles... blah blah blah, pain in the ass rule, for your own safety mate... drive safetly

On a 34, I think it'd be pretty obvious if it was removed but for the 33 since half came with them, half didn't well... it depends if they're willing to check build dates.

so its legit to do the swap on a non abs car, provided the wheel meets the size specs?

if you remove the airbag wheel you have to change your seat belt to a non airbag spec one

would it be possible to remove the airbag+sterring wheel(without setting off the airbag) and replacing it with an aftermarket steering wheel(momo) for circuit racing?? then for the street could you install the original steering wheel and airbag so it is fully functional and just like it was b4 taking it off??

i think i would much rather have an airbag on a race track than the road, even if you are wearing a helmut.

that momo steering wheel while racing will save you 50 secs on each lap, i swear!!
