Somebody help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have taken my R33 to a number of stupid so called specialists and they have all given me different answers which have cost me nearly $2000.

On standard boost (7psi) it runs like new ,Anything over (i mean even 1 psi over) it pops not detonates. it sounds like it is backfiring.

it looses boost and it sounds like it is just feeding it out the exhaust. verrrry embarassing.

sound like it is farting. I am using a turbosmart dual stage boost controller (tried a different 1 already) 750hp fuel pump, ngk irridium plugs, fuel lines, injectors have been cleaned ,3'' turbo back exhaust, pod filter ect. I have tried tripping the computer did not fix.

Help Help Help (eeeger to run more boooost) i feel like popeye without spinach

Sounds like boost cut to me.

How are you measuring boost? Boost cut happens at about 10psi or a bit over. The symptoms match pretty much exactly what you described.

You could get a boost cut defender but you're better off getting a full ECU replacement.

anything after 7psi confussed everyone i sent my car to

people have said to me the following with reports.

1:change computer

2:change bov(i am still using factory plum back)

3:change boost actuator

4:change plugs (so i did)

5:fuel pump (so i did)

6:have injectors cleaned(they were left to recirculate for 13 hours)

have tried using tape over the coil packs to avoid shorts from faulty coil packs.

i have taken it to 2 places where i have said i am not paying unless it is fixed came back and they both said cant help you.

Someone please give me an answer.

I am a Gold Coast local.

Anyone know anything

If someone knows a servicer around my area please post

funny, i always thought my car was spiking, but the symtops you show are exactly what im experiencing???, so its missing big time.

Im havnig the exact same problem mate!, anything over stock 7psi (or 1/2 way on the stock gauge), will start missing, feels like 100 times a second, and yes fartings a good word:)

just wondering if you've overcome the issue yet? do i really need a safc???

I think Robo is onto something... you need to get it dynoed and post up the A/F ratios etc... my bet would be its just running extremely rich and blowing out your spark... remember the closer you gap your plugs the weaker the spark gets (may help you fix the problem in the short term tho)

other than that if you reckon it is losing boost could you just have a boost leak somewhere that only become apparent when you go over 7psi?

    • Like I said, "black magic" LOL In the end,  it is what it is, and hopefully, what this here knuckle head has done is an improvement and not a hindrance Not that I actually notice any negatives now, or that I will get any seat of the pants benefits when all is said and done, but best practice says I shouldn't be pulling intake air from the hot engine bay  Famous last words: I cannot see it being any worse than what it is at the moment 馃
    • If the gases flowing in those two tracts had the same properties, you could maybe use such broscience. But the exhaust has a different composition, different normal density, different actual density (because of different normal density, and mostly because of the massively higher temperature), and different viscosity (again because of much higher temperature). Consequently, all of the fluid dynamics parameters that matter, that you calculate from these inputs, such as the Reynolds number, friction factors (for wall friction) and so on, are all incomparable.
    • And we shall have to presume that Canada is the same?
    • In the US almost everything is E10. It can't exceed 10% by much or fuel systems have trouble adapting. At the same time because MTBE, MMT, and TEL are all banned they need as much ethanol in it as possible to boost octane.
    • I was mostly jesting. In my experience (and probably only my experience) the R34 GTT physical airbox space is actually too small to flow the amount of power it wanted. By sealing the box, I made it so it could only be fed by the ducts themselves. So you can seal it up and get nice cold air which IS good, but at a certain crossover point: More Hot Air > Less Cold Air I don't think you're at this point. In my case merely ducting the hot air intake with a very focused set of ducts counteracts the fact it's in a V8 engine bay. More cold air obviously best. The solution looks great.
