No limiter

Hey guys, I have a R32 with rb25det s2 in it and its having a issue where it isnt limiting but instead it is misfiring at 7k rpm but the tacho keeps going up to about 8.5k, if take my foot off throttle a little bit it will limit fine! 

What do you guys think this could be?

What should I have a look at, I have brand new coils and spark plugs

If by "I have" you mean they are already in the car, you should probably close the plug gaps up a little bit.

They are gapped to .8 and pervious ones were gapped to .7 from memory and still same issue

Well, if it ain't spark, it's probably fuel. Weak pump? Dirty injector(s)?

What ECU?

If it's aftermarket, it could have a hard rev limit at 8.5k and a soft cut at 7k. With that setup yes it would 'misfire' from 7k but that would be working as intended. 

As a side note, that's also how I have my rev limit setup, I have quite a large range of soft cut where the ECU continues to slowly cut spark to more and more cylinders if I leave my foot in it til it hits the hard cut when all cylinders would then have all spark cut.

I would suggest the tacho isn't accurate and that is the issue. If possible log what is actullay happening with a consult cable and see if I am correct.
