Different engine choice ??

I have a 3.5 m35 stagea and unfortunately the bottom end went last week, Here in the UK stagea's are really quite rare but a friend has a Vq25det that i can have.

Can i put that engine in instead ?

It’s a VQ35DE no? Loads of 350zs about, loads of parts, shouldn’t be an issue to swap/rebuild. The VQ25DET is not a swap you want to do unless you want to do an everything swap.

Here in the UK 350z engines are still pretty expensive whereas the vq25det is for free so thats what is making me lean towards it.

What do you mean by "everything swap" i'd have the engine, wiring and ecu.

Ok if you have all that its a good start. ..so long as it comes with the manifolds, turbo etc. Then  you will need an intercooler and a bigger exhaust.

At the end it will make the same Kw as the 350DE

It’s also different ECU and canbus for everything else as I understand it, you’ll need the dash too etc.

What about the mechanics of the traction control system. Early m35 had a hydro system, later as all electrical? Yeah?
