Hi, I have a 2010 370GT skyline coupe, CKV36, with a ruptured differential bushing.  The local Nissan dealers tell me their answer is to replace the entire sub-frame, which includes considerable man hours, on top of the parts costs.

It all looks identical to the G35/G37 Infiniti, as described in the below YT vid,  where there is a suggestion that an aftermarket replacement bush can be inserted, rather than replacing the entire sub-frame.  What is the preferred way to deal with this?  Has anybody found a satisfactory alternative bush and successfully had it replaced?

Given that Whiteline have a poly bush kit (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Whiteline-Rear-Diff-Mount-Front-Bush-For-Nissan-Skyline-V35-V36-Stagea-M35/192741676619?fits=Model%3ASkyline&epid=1847214044&hash=item2ce04c964b:g:MS0AAOSwOI5dVAQV&frcectupt=true) available, I'd be sure that all the other usual suspects would too. Thus there should be no doubt that you can just flick the old Nissan elastogoosh bush and replace with something else.

Good to know.  I would like to hear some people's experiences with these tho.  The original had two chambers inside the rubber filled with silicone, which would have given a certain amount of movement.  I don't know the effect of going to something firmer or softer.

I have taken the temporary step of injecting some silicone based caulking, which is firm but I expect it will crumble away quite fast.  It seems to have got rid of a slight knock it usedta have anyway.

For the bushings I bought this:

For removal I bought this:

https://www.z1motorsports.com/transmission-driveline/z1-motorsports/z1-motorsports-rear-differential-bushing-removal-tool-370z-g37-p-11086.html

I didn't have time to remove it myself but when I had the clutch replaced, had it swapped at the same time.

My old sub frame bushing was well torn. The replacement made a difference. The tool to remove helped as well (I still have my old one, just lost one part of it).

I got it when Z1 Motorsports had a sale.

If it is the same as the V35, you can only buy an aftermarket bush for the rear mount, I tried to find rubber bushes, but  had no luck, so Poly bushes might be your only option for the V36 too.

I am not a fan of Poly for a daily either, it falls apart too quick and causes all kinds of squeaks and creaks when it gets a bit dirty

    • The Frenchy's kit is the way to go forward. A modern compressor that weighs about 1/2 as much, is at least twice as efficient, and will do a good job on R134a. And of course the kit has everything else you need to connect it up and have it work properly.
    • Hey all , I am in the process of having the AC system in my r32 GTST converted from r12 to r134a and I’m being told my compressor has gone bad and I will need a new one. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for what is the best route to go aside from dropping $1500 on a new oem one? I did see that Frenchy’s performance garage offers a kit to mount a Toyota compressor, has anybody actually used this kit on their car? Or is there anywhere I could purchase just a clutch? Any help is appreciated.
    • Well, your RB20 ECU loom won't have wires for the boost solenoid, that boost sensor, and possibly one or two other things. There could be differences in seemingly random things like the charcoal canister purge solenoid, because the 25DET has to handle boost in the vacuum system and the 20DE does not. I don't know - I haven't looked. It is very likely that all the most important things are same-same, being the main sensors like AFM, CAS, etc, and the injectors and ignition. Not that you'll need the AFM for the Haltech anyway. I would suggest that you would seriously want to sit down with the pinouts for both ECUs and just go through them and highlight green what is the same, orange what is different/missing, and make a plan from there. It's not going to be difficult. It will either be the same or need to be fixed.
    • yeaaa that's why I haven't done any wiring to the stock ecu harness because I have the haltech, but then that leads me to the other question of "is the pnp harness really plug and play?" or would I have to still switch some pins/wires over because the pnp is for the rb25det neo harness, and not for the rb20de neo harness. was really hoping to find something to spoon feed me since so many people have done rb20neo + t conversions, but man this is rough.
    • Temu raptor, lol. At least the owner isn't your typical ranger danger lot
