Hi all,

Looking for the hard rubber 90 degree elbows that sit just above factory intercooler holes in the R33 GTS-T chassis and connect the factory intercooler to the rest of the intake/turbo piping - the ones most return flow coolers connect up to as well.

Look like this - happy with just one but can take both if you have.

Most sellers don't seem interested in separating them from factory intercoolers but want to avoid buying a side intercooler when I don't need one.

Thanks!

FYI - These are reasonably cheap new from Kudos et al - I just sold my old ones off as a bundle recently. I want to say new they are probably similar price of a 2nd hand SMIC, and obviously they last like 20 years.

  • Thanks 1

I've got one in Adelaide (actually I've got 2, but one is split, probably because it's old). I replaced mine with silicone ones - Silicone elbow which work fine. No association with the seller, but they were cheap enough and do the job.

Awesome, thanks for the link - is that the ID you used?

I pulled the item description from my Ebay purchase history, so yes. It was last year, so my memory is a bit hazy.

The split in the original was interesting - it only opened up under boost, so at idle / low revs it wasn't leaking. Only found it after connecting a testing bung & pressurising the system with compressed air.

Interesting! It must be a common issue in worn hoses, or simply hoses that aren't designed for boost pressures we put them through. My diagnosis was a bit less scientific...I got fed up with it hitting a wall on boost and overfuelling so I pulled apart the whole intake and inspected. Noticed the tiniest hairline split that opened up sizeably when squeezed. What's annoying is that would have started small and grown, slowly over time robbing me of power until the point where it was so noticeable I surmised an issue...grrr.

Thanks again.

Mine is a track-only car, and I knew when it split- suddenly there was much less top end. Tried to find the leak at the track & couldn't. Got home & hooked up the leak test plug & compressor, and as we increased the pressure it suddenly opened up. When we removed the pressure, the split closed up again & looked like it was perfect. The rubber is pretty hard, and showing it's age.

Yeah I'm not at all unhappy about it haha...it's testament to quality that the rest of the car holds up after 25 years while small things like this hose that would have failed a decade ago on other cars, are only now letting go...after exceeding factory requirements.

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
