worth playing, but if its not your thing, its not your thing..

Like skyzerr33 is saying, not much too it really.. and if you want a more complex shooter there are others around. Anyhow, its keeping me playing. I'll probably endevour to finish it, and I don't finish too many games.

Works on older systems and scales pretty well down to older systems, but you only get 640x480 and medium or low settings. Meant to be ok, but would take away a fair bit of the atmosphere in a game like that i reckon.

runs nicely on mine with high detail with 1024x768 w/ Athlon XP3200+, 512mb RAM, and 9800pro extreme overclocked to above 9800XT speed. Wouldn't want much slower than that to get the full effect.

My day at work today:

Install 256MB NX6800 card.

Install Doom III

....errr......something goes here....bit of a blur really :D

Stop playing Doom III

Went home from work.

I like it but would prefer the system our video card rep plays it on:

Athlon 3800+

2GB RAM

400GB S-ATA HDD

Abit 512MB Vid card

In ULTRA quality (or whatever it's called) @ 1600x1200 at 68FPS !!!!! FARK!!!

It's apparently limited to 60fps on the X-box...

So, what on earth do you and this rep do to be able to play D3 all day? :D

(I've ordered some new bits to play... damn gaming addiction)

Don't even bother looking at prices/hardware until 3 days before you are about to purchase, then do your research and hand over the cash.
