Well my motor is down again just waiting to get my head back from machine shop as we had a head gasket failure. In the mean time I was brought a car from my friend who just got his car back from a shop here and wow did they hack it up and charged him 15k!  He brought it to me as it was “feeling funny” and hitting 26psi when target was 14. Wastegate was stuck shut, they used windshield washer line for vacuum line all over the motor. They fried his powersteering pump as the resevior was right by turbo and they left the Hicas fins in so I made a new resevior and smacked a new pump on there.Rad hoses falling off and cracked, front prop shaft bolts were in backwards and the shaft was loose. No wheel alignment after Hicas removal and it was walking like a crooked dog. I could keep going on how he paid 2k for intercooler pipe that looks like it was done blind folded. Crank pulley had a 3” chunk out of it. So I got a good project on my hands for a bit while I wait for some stuff for my car. Going to make some new piping with hdi clamps and make his beauty a solid reliable unit.My jdm space is nice right now.

These were some of the issues.... There was one plug going to the tps which was not extended and plugged in. I posted a picture of the plug. The car seemed to run ok without it but I extended the harness and plugged it in. Just trying to figure out the actual function of this specific plug as I know the tps has 2 plugs going to it. The dust cap that was pissing out oil was pretty funny/sketch as hell......

This was the intercooler piping they charged him 2k for. Actually robbery. It’s a shame people bering there cars to me to be fixed out of my garage instead of to “shops”. that’s the level of work we get around here at shops it’s pathetic....that’s why I bought all my own fabrication stuff and hubs because I pretty much had too if I wanted to stand a chance...Leaking at 4 psi in about 25 spots. Leaking from welds, cuplers, throttle shaft, rubbish. I don’t even know how they dynoed this thing!

So yeah this is all the shinanigans a guy has to go back and redo everything for his mate so he can have a nice reliable gtr again. Nice to be on the other end of it for once and watch someone else spend there money haha. The gtr itself is awesome and fun to work on as its kind of beat up a bit but hauls ass and has a good strong motor.

Tps has a 3 pin plug on the lead for the actual throttle position to ecu and the other 3 pin with actually only 2 wires pinned in is the throttle closed idle command switch.

That balancer is a good one 😄

Yeah good old gtr was still spinning it not blowing belts somehow. Thanks for the info Ben yet again. And as far as the Canadian shops go they only follow the scene. People wanted cheap work that’s what they got and that’s the attitude that arose. People are more worried about what kind of oil cap and steering wheel they have rather than the setup of the car. I’m serious it’s kind of embarrassing that’s why I’m only on this site and don’t partake In Canadian crap what so ever. I hide in a hole yet everyone comes with there gtr. Here’s another one I had to fix that was mangled. This car now is actually pretty dope and finished now/catchcan and everything is on it now and tuned.

What a bummer. I'm dumbfounded by the lack of competence from Canadian workshops. R32s were eligible since mid 2000s and nobody there knows how to build one?

Canada's big. This must be an OP local thing as my area has a lot of well known skyline shops that do top work.

I believe out of every place in the world that builds gtr’s Canada is on the low end of it all. Yeah there’s always gunna be a few good shops but for the most part nothing major. Like boost factory in Calgary is good, couple places in Ontario. We aren’t so bad ourselves.....other than that I haven’t seen anything that great comes out of canada

Well good mate mikey’s car is turning out great after removing all the rubbish from his engine. Can’t believe what that shop did to him. That’s why he brought it 350km to have it done right and retuned! There was many boost leaks, kinked vacumm lines, no mounts or cars taken on anything. Can’t wait to finish this girl up we are waiting for parts again.ceramic coating the exhaust manifold, neW down pipe, bigger wastegate 60mm,intercooler pipe on that side, ceramic coat the intercooler pipes black, cast elbow welded on the compressor of turbo. Then send. First picture is how it came....if your following the thread look above at the issues this car came to Me with it was nuts!

Well finally done one of my good friends builds. My buddy mikey brought me this car after being dynoed with sooooooo many sketchy issues. With 100 hours of time and fabrication this gtr is back on its feet and being remote tuned tomorow!

We added a oil cooler for some cheap insurance due to no extended sump on the old girl for now. Will take care of that later on when engine comes out again. Nice grill mount turned out ok. All full of fluids should have some nice videos of some pulls today

Finally finished up the milk r32! Just tuned on low spring pressure for now but we are going to redo the suspension next and the turn it up. Turned out pretty good some light pull videos at the bottom. 60mm gate screams like crazy lol

Cheers mates. Check bottom picture for some thing I found on my drain plug on transmission I have no idea what it is

First time in my life where me and my wife have had our cars dialed in at the same time. Will be nice to go to cash days this weekend with the cars in Winnipeg. It’s the capital of our province and has a massive underground race scene in pretty pumped to take the gtr there and see what it can do.

    • It really depends on your setup. Mine is 'accidently' more suited to revving higher. bigger cams, turbo etc. Plus my super long first takes donkey years to come onto boost, so if it will move my power band to the right, maybe i'll pass on this. i have a G45-1500 going on there soon which I suspect might make it more of a fat pig.
    • Yeah good call, I will endeavour to tuck that down when I rewrap the looms it’s pushed up by
    • Good work. I will say, this line circled however, will potentially pool with oil, as it's going from high, to low, to high, before heading downwards.
    • Yeah, thumbsup from me. The distant shot of the bay just looks same-same as before.
    • Dad had a court case drag out with them from 1998 to 2004. He was in a not at fault accident, NRMA were the ones who covered the other person. They tried to blame his neck injuries on the fact he'd had an injury in 1981 on his extreme lower back where he slipped a single disc right near the bottom. Had been all cleared from that injury for years. This accident destroyed his shoulder, and f**ked a heap of discs in his neck, and he still has major problems with it to this day. Sarah's sister while on her L plates had a small Suzuki Alto, she had stopped to give way to an ambulance, and someone changed lanes behind her because there lane was also slowing, and rear ended her at 80km/h. (She had been stopped for a few seconds already too!). Car was completely f**kED. NRMA sent the vehicle around to 3 different workshops as they kept claiming "We believe it can be repaired, and not written off, we just need to find the correct workshop". It took 3 months, and a lot of arguing before they'd concede and wrote it and paid out. About two years later her sister had a Lancer, someone pulled out of a stop sign without stopping (in an 80 zone). Her sister swerved, hit the front of the other persons car (Instead of dead t-boning the drivers door), which ramped her Lancer, and made it roll multiple times down the road. It hit every panel on the way through. Her sister had slid her self out of the car, and remembers the ambos walking to the accident (They'd been sitting at a set of lights just down the road and witnessed it) and they were saying "Well, this ones going to be a fatality, no way you can walk away from that". Well, she did. And then NRMA sent two assessors out to look at the car, both of which wrote it off. They tried to send another assessor out, except a HUGE uproar was raised, and they FINALLY paid it out. That was on a car, that had damage to EVERY panel, you could see from 100m away the whole car was also twisted, roof bowed etc. Nah, we'll try get out of needing to payout on a $10,000 car... Her sister ended up with major shoulder reconstructive surgery being required, and was permanently limited in her ability to do her job as a nurse after that, as she can't (And was told before surgery too this would be guaranteed to happen) regain full strength in that shoulder. However, there was no choice to not have it, as she could barely use her arm, which was her dominant one, and was in near constant major pain. (And she's the type of person that would try and walk off a broken leg!) NRMA did the biggest run around on the personal injury side too for about 18 months, even to the point of trying to put 100% blame of the accident on Sarah's sister, even though the other driver admitted she didn't look, and didn't stop, and was charged by the police. Sarah used to have a Barina insured with them. It was a policy setup, paid all 12 months in advance. At the end of the 12 months, Sarah was living with me, I reviewed the renewal, it clearly stated "If you do nothing, your policy will cease on XYZ date". We did nothing, as we moved her insurance in with all of mine and I was with Shannons. We find out 10 months later, NRMA decided, because he DAD had a car insurance policy at the same address as what Sarah's mailing address was (Garaged address had been changed), that they'd put Sarah's (What should have been non existent policy) onto her Dad's month to month charges on his credit card. We had to jump through hoops, to get a refund. They didn't care that we actually found the letter that said "If you do nothing, your policy will cease" they made us prove we had NON COMPULSORY insurance else where before they'd issue the refund, and after they agreed to the refund, it still took another 6 weeks and 3 more phone calls for them to actually process it. They also had two insurance claims from storm damage, and they were an absolute cluster to get resolved as well (one vehicle, one house). Some how, up until about 3 years ago, her parents were still loyal to NRMA too, and we were like "How the hell are you so loyal to staying with them, when other places are so much cheaper, and they've f**ked you over every time you've ever had to make a claim?"
