How come?

Well firstly its your car so its obviously entirely up to you what you do with it.

However.

Rose gold or similar is redolent of a car culture that is, pretty much, the antithesis of what a GTR could be said to represent. The GTR was built to compete in touring car racing and Nissan chucked all the engineering they could at it. It wasn’t built to have chrome braid or hectik fitment rims or highly polished air filters or an overstuffed leather interior.

So painting the engine bay (Nissans efforts to that end were pretty shit to be fair) rose gold sort of misses the point. By all means clean it up but your car is a pretty rare colour for a GTR. I’d urge to you respect that and paint it the same as the body.

GTR’s are about engineering and not about bling.  Good on you for going what must have been some pretty hard yards to get it. So enjoy what you have.  Maybe rose gold for the Tarago??? (Not sure what they call them in the US)

Paint in what ever colour you want bro! who cares what people think your the one that forked out the cash to buy the car. these cars were designed to be enjoyed by there owner end of story. If you got 1000kw or gold bay or stock engine who cares, if you can head down the track or road with huge smile on your face the cars doing what its suppost to. I think rose gold would be wild, full send.

Amen.

agreed. my GTR is as probably as stock as you could find one these days and thats how I like it.  I do encourage doing what you want with your car though. my wife is painting her skyline joker purple in a few months, if she listened to everyones opinion it would be staying white. make your car your own and enjoy brotha.

    • Excuse me for butting in....but which part of ADHD can be considered a superpower? I would have though it far more likely that some ASD comorbidity is more likely to be contributing to an ability to hyperfocus on something. ADHD being aimed somewhat in the other direction. My shed looks like your shed. My whiteboard list of unfinished projects has entries going back 15 years. I know what you're talking about - I just struggle to connect ADHD to the results being discussed.
    • Thanks for reaching out!  It's a blessing and a curse at the same time.  I'm undiagnosed but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it in me... I have more half started projects laying around my house, shed, garden, etc taking up space and money, destroying aesthetics than if I added up all of my mates projects together. But, ADHD gives me the ability to hyper focus on things that no mere mortal could even  comprehend.  A recent pool build is an example of that....  I dont know anyone else that would be dumb enough and focused enough to take on then complete something of that magnitude. I call ADHD a superpower but it can equally be completely destructive if not controlled and focusedon the right places. Addiction is a major concern to ADHD people and thankfully my addictions have been no worse than projects, XBOX, chocolate and being an arsehole! It's often hereditary and my 13 year old son is currently learning how to drive it at the moment. Keep lurking! If i can finally finish this bloody thing at some point it will be a win for all of us ADHD'ers! 🤪
    • I've been quietly following this thread for ages, but this one got me. Since my ADHD diagnosis (and associated learnings and prescription) I'm way less inclined to wade into forum yarns when there are better things to do with my time, as half the time I'd end up in some kind of forum debate even if that wasn't my intention. I've not lost the ADHD "superpowers", just am a lot better at directing my hyperfocus into slightly more constructive things, but haven't stopped quietly lurking in here in my spare time.
    • Stripped the tank down and gave it a good scrub. It came up really good! Not sure if I'll just put it back in like that or give it a blackening treatment (such as Bowdens The Black Box). That might give it a matte look so might just run it as is.
    • @MBS206 Ha ha, yeah ADHD is a daily battle to not get drawn in to doing things you want to do that you know you shouldn't do!  Every single time I walk into my shed I end up doing something I started the day having zero intention of doing! I keep mentioning the 1 step forward, 3 steps back scenario and I'm tipping people that are blessed with ADHD (yes, blessed) are the worst at that!
