So, I have a pretty tough decision. Would I be better off purchasing an automatic r32 skyline rather than a manual? I have found many automatic skylines that have low milage and that are much more cleaner and cheaper. however, most of the manual skylines that I have found are much more expensive and most of them are not in a very good shape. for example they have bad dash bubbles, scuffed paint, torn seats, etc. so what would be the best decision?

Not a tough decision, just look at pros n cons, and the intended purpose of the alleged vehicle in question. Are you planning to just buy it and drive it, never give a thought to any further modification? If so, buy the better condition auto. Are you thinking of doing some work to it, and buying it with a longer-term performance goal in mind? If so maybe the manual, but still could be worth buying the auto.

I take it overall condition is important since you mention the more cosmetic issues there. For what I paid for my R33 in auto that was in VGC condition, there's no way I would have got a manual for that price, and I paid $1750 for a full manual conversion kit (many years later)….so still thousands ahead of just buying a manual originally. So over to you, and what you want out of the car.

As above... a manual conversion (depending on where you are) is "easy" depending on your skill and budget etc.

It sure is a lot easier to do than say, get a full respray, and costs far less. Other condition items are also a worry. If the auto is clean, and you want to keep the car (i.e won't be concerned that "amagad its been "converted so it will lose value") then it could very well be the right move.
