Found a minor coolant leak, the coolant hose from the overflow to the engine, the clamp has seen better days, and I'm hesitant to just get a new clamp in case it is actually the hose on its way out

so, as I tend to do.....I'm replacing all radiator hoses and clamps

Lets hope the weather stays good till the parts arrive, riding the bike is the rain sucks balls

Did the cooling system flush with Rislone flush, although the system seemed clean and nice and red, and was flushed 12 months ago with the SCA flush, after the flush the red turned brown and lots of crud drained out,  then flushed the engine and core with clean water for a while before the water cleared up, then fitted the new OEM rubber coolant hoses and jubilee clamps, filled with Penrite red coolant and demineralised water

Also swapped out the diff oil with some Penrite pro gear 80w 140, I used Nulon 80w 140 last time, 12 months and 15k km ago, but the diff was a bit slappy with it, the Penrite has worked well in keeping it quite

20 minute test drive and miraculously no leaks

Hopefully I can put all the undertrays back on tomorrow

Called Harrop today to see when they are sending the HTV2300........well, Covid has struck again, it seems everyone, everywhere, are ordering stuff, lots of stuff, therefore......massive backlog for ordered parts.

They start fabricating 2300's for LS1 applications on........ 19 March.....

They did say mine will be one of the first to be shipped though

Got bored and checked brake pad wear, rear were still pretty fat, fronts only had about 5mm left so.......got some Forza FP2 front pads on the way from Brakes Direct $139 delivered

Not bhed, good price

The supercharger has arrived at Autotech in Clyde.....

I'm in Taree

Dooh

Should be home in a week or so, I'll book in then and hopefully have it installed and tuned soon after

In other, more disturbing news

Seen a dead calf today, it was under a big cow, I assume its mother, the cow had its guts hanging out and an unborn calf was hanging out in those guts, I was like WTF, life can be cruel

Did have the big sads for them

Good to hear supercharger is ready.

That is understandable to have the sads but doing a great thing helping the locals out.

Cheers mate, all the hard work is done by the locals and the young soldiers we throw at it, all I do is point and the young-uns and tell them to "GO GO GO"

I'll be returning soon though as I've got some medical shit going on that needs some attention, nothing serious, just minor maintenance on the old body.

Oh to be young again

Awesome, you will be smiling for a while when you get it back.

I'll just leave this here............ :whistling:

Mate, I'll be at the limits of my drivetrain, even with the built trans, with the 360-380kw that we are looking at making

Unless there is some current undiagnosed issues with the current engine, it "should" hold together fine

Fingers crossed - famous last words - hopefully- etc. etc.

    • I like it when the counter chick leads you out the back into the racks and says "have a grub around in here and see if you can find what you need. I'll be back in a few minutes. Just left me in front of a massive motorised shelving system and 2-3 million fasteners, so I could find a peculiar SS shoulder bolt with cap head. Gotta love country towns.
    • I used this https://osgiken.com.au/product/os-giken-os-250r-lsd-gear-oil-80w250-1-litre/   shut my nismo 1.5 pro up by heaps…. Not silent though. Gives the car character and personality. It ain’t a carolla. If you want silent, put a quaife in it.
    • It's about the same time for me from Bunnings, or the Fasteners. My big push away from takeaway food, and gluten in general keeps me away from the Bunnings Snags too! Weather up here, I've been out for two walks today in the beautiful sunshine. Had a few little drizzles, and some wind, that honestly, a tin of beans and I could compete on how harsh she blows Thankfully, being this bit inland, we're not getting anything much really. Will probably pick up a bit more when/if Cyclone Alfie decides to come ashore. A few areas in the GC though, and south into NSW are really getting smashed though! Right now, I'm just annoyed Alfie hasn't hit, as I'm not allowed to crack into the BBQ foods like the bacon and eggs until the Cyclone hits "In case we lose power"...
    • I love fastener joints, the price difference between them and joints like Bunnings or Super Cheap is amazing, and they either have exactly what you want, or they can get it to quick They have even given me some for free when I only needed a couple of specific size In saying this, I have paid premium for fasteners from Bunnings if they have the sizes I need, but only for convenience really, as my local is only 10 minutes away, the Sushi joint near them is also a consideration  How's the weather Matt? Stay safe mate
    • Wideband is worth setting up if only for tuning purposes. I would not mess with the ignition system unless there's a misfire. HKS crank trigger is popular out here for the relatively easily sourced Denso crank sensor, not a bad idea to install as well regardless of power level on a standalone. Boost leak test is worth thinking about. Oil pressure sensor tied to a fuel cut isn't a bad idea either. Getting the tune figured out is a good idea. Without putting eyes on it and getting under it there's no way for us to tell you exactly what it needs but most likely you're down to the last 10% that will make a big, big difference in how happy you are with the car.
