Good time, will be hard for me to beat you!

Maybe, maybe not, it always depends on the day

Best time of the night?

As many runs as you need?

A bag of delicious hot cinnamon donuts for the victor?

I'll run first then park up till needed, or, WSID closes, whichever comes first.....😜

.... sorry was that with the MT's or with a regular R888 tyre?

275/40 17 MT's mate

I'll have another play in a month or two and see if I can crack a 10.???

I actually forgot to soften up the rear suspension, and also forgot to press the performance button to let it rev out a little more

Next time I'm going to set up my phone to record everything that is happening on the dash, like launch rpm, shift points, and what mph and gear I'm in at 12? Mph, I'm not sure if I was right at the top of 3rd or it changed into 4th at the line

Also, remembering to hit the trac and performance buttons, loading up the trans a little, slowly "mashing the pedal" is all apparently to hard for me to do, LOL, but, at least I can only get better

If was balls deep fun though

I'll be keen after All Crap Day, provided my car hasn't exploded or ended back on a trailer/hoist/jackstands

That's just the game we play mate

I'm now looking at a little vibration at high RPM, maybe the 30 year old flogged out tail shaft?

Smile and wave, smile and wave

It cracks me up to no end that you have a fridge in the car! There's something about the thought of hitting the drag strips with cooled pastries in the back that just hits right.

Have you ever been to Patisserie Schwarz in Wentworth Falls? If you are out that way it's well worth stopping by. Proper Western European pastries. It gets a bit busy and not a lot of seating but their baked goods are top notch.

Currently sitting under my desk at work running on 240v, it holds my milk and lunch

My milk tended to "evaporate" pretty quick in the kitchenette fridge that everyone has access to, so I needed to take measures

Must work with some jackc*nts to have to do that.

Vibration in rear or front?

once that vibration sorted would have to be one of the tidiest and sorted commodores out there.

I feel it is probably tail shaft, it is a body type shake over 80mph, and doesn't get better until under 80 mph

I'm "thinking" tail shaft anyway, I've booked it in to get Autotech to get it up on a hoist and have a good look

Some new rubber tailshaft coupling bushings and a new centre bearing on the 20 year old girl can't hurt anyway, so that may be a quick, relatively cheap, shot gun approach to start with anyway, justified in my mind as preventative maintenance

Preventative maintenance stuff helps me sleep well at night

The Matouks boys would be shaking their heads at this comment. Bipolar R33 gtst recently went 6.49 221mph 1/4 full bodied and still running irs rear end on 275's. I think that's the fastest 33 gtst in the world, also has sunroof. Covers off that record too. Lol.

Yours should do an easy 10 with traction. I know, easier said than done.

Sorry MLR for non bogan content.

I could thrown on Simmons on the car, white walls dis dat, instant @The Bogan approval.

Nope, Skylines need to run stuff from J to keep the "ricer" look, like vented bonnets and neons, and 3 ft long exhaust tips

Yes, I know and apologise for using the word ricer, but you cannot be a true bogan in a Skyline, as you cannot be a ricer in a Commodore

Sort of like how rednecks drive American cars

And fat old white guys with arthritis ride Harleys

I'm still out on the classification of the R30-31 Skylines though, they are a sort of fusion blend of bogan and rice.....Bogice????.....Rigan?????

I apologise to no one

But love youse all

Bogrice sounds good, when you have a succulent Chinese meal from a dodgy food court behind Woolies CBD and your bog contains rice.

Typical R31 are from a stratum somewhat below you common or garden bogan. I think feral is the best description.

Maybe I should of got one of these before they commanded drug money

Just dropped the car off to Autotech Engineering to diagnose the vibration I'm getting

Hopefully just the tailshaft couplings or centre bearing

They are going to stick it up on a hoist and have a good look and see if the couplings or bearings are showing wear, if they looks alright they will stick it on the dyno and try to replicate it and go from there

It never happens on the street doing 110kph on the hwy, or when I'm giving it some beans, but, once the car hits around 140kph at the strip it starts to vibrate and increases all the way up to when I back off at the line doing 200kph

    • I had a look at the FAB9 EFR kit, around $8500 AU before delivery, so add in shipping, installation, consumables and tuning, I believe the price difference would be negligible  And whilst I am paying top dollar at MX5 Mania, if I have any issues with the kit they are local for support,  and from my experience, will happily go out of their way to help, hell, I've purchased parts from them and asked "how do I install or remove parts" and they have fitted a few of them for free, this means more to me than saving a few thousand dollars And yes, 99% of the time I just plod around in the car, that may change once I start hearing turbo whooshy noises, but, as I have 3 family members is the constabulary, even when I'm up it, it is only up to the speed limit, or occasionally, but rarely, overtaking on the Hwy (I just plod in the left lane typically and enjoy the drive) Plus the kids would never let it go if I got booked speeding, Jackie is constantly getting critiqued by the kids about her driving, which I think is hilarious, and tell them that she is "bringing shame to our family", so heaven forbid if I ever got done speeding, after all my mouthing off about her driving, I would never live it down, and it would be another thing she would bring up any chance she got Like the time I got drunk about 15 years ago and fell out of a cab, which gets brought up at least a few times every year since it happened Good times
    • True, might get it looked at. Found out you can in fact flatten the 12v battery relatively easily too the other day (kids lefts the hazards on) so meaning to get that checked in the new year. What's odd is it'll blow cold from both vents if you have the ac down as low as poss (18), but anything else the passenger one blows warmish. Also has been summer since I got it obvs but noticed it didn't seem to want to blow hot last night when we had a cold snap.
    • You ask for things. You specifically state you want responsiveness. A link was provided for a far superior, more responsive option. Find a MX5 workshop that will install it for you. Maybe MX5 Mania will throw on the Fab9 kit. It seems they want to charge almost 14K installed for their kit, so if they charge you $6K to install the FAB9 kit then you'll be ahead? Though really, the 2.5 with a 2860 running low boost will more or less feel as good as anything else. It's a lot of displacement and a small turbo. Think of a more modern RB26 with one stock turbo :p TBH, truth be told I've been driving my own car, and use about 50% throttle at most for 99.9% of the time. Mr Bogan is likely similar so this is all going to be semantics for the use case he actually has. (He'll be happy with anything relative to now) However, the EFR is hands down far superior in this use case. You really, really, really, really do notice it over the Garrett or equivalent.
