I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out...

Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...

I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy

I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising

Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility

I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol

I was following a near brand new Subaru the other day. If it weren't for the fact it had a WRX badge on it, I'd have thought it was a pure pleb boring car.

I leant out the window recently and took a picture of this new WRX.

It looked real damn fine in person.
It's faster around a track (stock) than a (stock) GR Yaris. It's much more practical despite being heavier. It's significantly cheaper.

This gen tunes really well, much better than others.

....

I think they're probably a lot better than people expect.

I maintain it actually looked really nice in person. So much so that I thought "No, this is illegal" but there it was, clear as day. I think we can easily call the wing and wheels/height to be transformative.

Not saying it's better than the GR Whatever, or the 86, or the WRX STI or anything of that sort (the internet says it all bolts up so you can buy best of all worlds?) but it's still at least a thing and not nearly AS bad as people say.

Take all the black off, put stock wheels back on, and you've got a boring looking Camry with a good scoop.

The factory WRX with no fancy bits, looks more boring than a modern Sportivo Camry.

Or I'm getting old...

I agree with you, but pretty much _any car ever made_ without some splitters, nicer kit, wing, wheels, low is the difference between "ew" and "the nicest car you've ever seen".

Applies to any Skyline too :p

The main catch phrase for any car is "the eye of the beholder", and "personal tastes and preferences"

And as for the plastic "flares", I honestly think they look cheap and tacky, and I cannot see them aging well, maybe if they were body colour they might look better to my eyes, but, I would still prefer it the were more like the older WRX STI models that had the wider body metal panels

In saying all this 5hit, I wouldn't buy a new WRX again, even if it had the wide body metal panels

But that's the thing, the WRX doesn't come stock with all those things.

But the old WRX looked good (not all of them). Same as like certain EVOs, Skylines, they looked good as they came from the factory.

Stocko WRX doesn't look like anything more than a Subaru Outback except for the hood scoop.
