WantGTR
Hi all, Since i bought my gtr the front drivers side has always had noticeably more negative camber than the passenger. Ive had 1 or 2 wheel aligments in the past but was never really able to properly fix the issue. Ive finally got around to buying some adjustable front camber arms. Just eBay items. Installed easy enough. I had to wind out the drivers side camber arm about 10mm more than the passenger to get the camber to about .5 neg each side. Took it for a drive and i hear a loud thud. The chassis was resting on this upright. Got the car up in the air again. Camber arm isnt broken. Everything looks intact. I guess the arm fouls on the chassis because the drivers side camber arm is now longer to correct the camber. The question is, what is bent on the drivers side? GTSBoy
Subframe is probably off to one side, having been slid into a kerb at some point in the past. Otherwise, just about anything could be bent. I'd suggest taking it to a chassis/alignment specialist who can make measurements. There is nothing immediately obvious that stands out to me. Ive had the car apart myself for several reasons over time but I cant recall anything looking particularly damaged. Everything has always come apart and back together easily. No damaged bolts or threads etc. Im thinking the j arm/upright maybe has a slight twist in it. I guess even a few mm can pull it out. I'll be touching base with my panel beater soon. See whats what.
