Hi everyone

I own a 1998 r33 sedan 40th anniversary that is currently running a 20e engine and drivetrain. I've brought a rb25det that comes with a r33 loom ect, I want to install the motor onto the 20e auto box will this work/last this will be temporary untill I have enough money to buy a 25det manual setup, I will be upgrading the radiator, putting in a trans cooler & will install a front mount intercooler.

Cheers looking forward to hear your feedback.

Oh that is cruel Nissan, putting 2l single cam in an r33.

I don't know how deep the troubles will be; wired in correctly the loom will cover the engine operation, but the gearbox is almost certainly electronically controlled and needs to talk to the ECU. So unless the AT control unit and ECU understand each other that will be a problem. It may be easier to go straight to manual

Also....this sort of thing always costs much more than you expect if you are paying someone,  because there will be a heap of unknowns you pay to fix by the hour. Don't start if your budget is tight already.

Thanks guys, I've done a few big auto electrical stuff on cars so that's not my main worry atleast for now xD, my main concern was that 20e gearbox not lasting 1year or so, I guess there is alot of varibles on how I drive the car etc. I've done a few decent builds in the past that have blown out of budget by nearly double the original budget. Maybe it's best to for me to hold onto the motor and start collecting parts and also buying the manual conversion and smashing it all in at once.

Cheers for your help
