Hey guys, I’m looking into buying a r33 gtst series 1 and want to know if anyone knows what is required to get and install a full 400R style body kit, or atleast front bumper, side skirts and wing. Are there any major medications that have to be done to the car?, and for those who ask I want to get a series 1 as I don’t want to have to hassle with nsw steering wheel airbag laws.

You'll need 400R style reps of the rear bumper, skirts and arches which are easily available for GTSTs but the front bumper will be the tricky bit. You'll also need a GTR spoiler which is not exactly the same but close enough.

The replica front bumpers that most people get have a different bottom lip and look kinda ugly if you ask me. The center section is raised up and is missing the center vents.

There are reps that look like the real thing but very rare to come by, expensive and usually for a GTR. To fit one of them, you'll need GTR front wings and headlight spacers. Aftermarket wider wings will work but you'll lose some of the 400R look obviously. Other option I can think of is you buy a 400R lip, and mould it on the GTST rep, which may need cutting and shortening slightly.

I’m looking at getting these as they are made specifically for the series 1 gtst and should fit without too much hassle

i personally think the look of wheel arches on most cars look ugly unless it’s a full wide body or half wide body kit but I wouldn’t be able to install one of those myself so I’m just going to go for a nine wide body 400r I guess?

Yeah, these should be good and that front bumper looks alright to be honest.

The bottom lip is still a bit different to the real thing though. Just needs the center section fiberglassing/building up so it's flush with the rest to look like the real thing but if you like it, all's good.

The 400r bumper didn’t have a solid lip piece in the middle.

I have a 400r bumper on my r33

We cut the centre piece out and glasses over the little join marks to make it all one. If you do end up getting one look for indicators that for the little hole now as it took me sometime to find the right size. As for the wheel flares I’m wasn’t a huge fan of them as then did look silly when there put on a gts maybe on a gtr with wider guards it wouldn’t look bad

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but that's still not right either? Does like nice though.

The real lip looks like this.

On most reps, that center bit where I've drawn the red line on the first pic either goes in abit or is missing the center two vents entirely. The picture above is what the real thing looks like. The 400R bumpers also use same front indicators as a GTR.

cant get a new 400r bumper any where in the world, mine is as is a rep to, I cut the centre piece out as it looks dumb and added my own front lip. No the indicators as way different. Normal GTRs have that little duct insert with the indicator on it where the 400 has to sucken in holes where there indicator is mounted

    • I ❤️ Matty I would like to thank Matty for going out his way in securing me a OEM NC detachable hard top for the NC Matty, your worth your weight in gold, and I cannot say how much I really appreciate your outstanding help I'll get it colour matched once I pick it up sometime in Dec-Jan 😁
    • We have some genuine Japanese legally decommissioned car number plates now in stock 🙂 Add some legitimately obtained JDM style to your Skyline or other Japanese model, or simply as a garage/man cave decoration! About the 40mm hole: The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure & Transport in Japan recognised the popularity of keeping decommissioned plates among car enthusiasts and came up with a method to "destroy" (or render them unusable for street use) while still retaining their collectable/usable value for display etc.  We have 40mm hole covers available to cover the hole nicely with a Sakura motif, which are also available in white in (very!) limited quantities, however they frequently sell out. Please let me know if you're wanting one or more of these and I'll check availability. The Sakura motif covers are more common. https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-decommissioned-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-set-su-7515 https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-decommissioned-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-set https://www.oemsoko.co.jp/products/genuine-japanese-vehicle-number-plate-400mm-hole-cover *Please note that we can't obtain particular number or area name (eg: "Gunma 500 Fu ・86") if requested. All plates are provided as they become available after decommissioning.
    • Ah, fair enough. For the IAT, I'm using a legit GM sensor that was used on the car prior to my current build. I'll get another wideband and IAT ordered and follow up when they show up. Thanks for the help.
    • You shouldn't need to massively fatten up the mixtures for cold conditions. For one thing - 0°C is not that cold. For another, the Haltech will be using the IAT sensor to tell it how dense the air air, and calculate the correct amount of fuelling. Then the cold start enrichment is added as a % on top of that, so it should scale with the main fuelling. You might also doubt the IAT sensor at this time. You're not using one from an RB26 are you? Using a nice Bosch sensor or similar? Happens. Some wideband units take great pleasure in killing their sensors. Put another wideband in the tailpipe and compare. Or just swap the sensor to a brand new one and see.
    • Oh, my misunderstand. When the car was running, it sounded ok, but if I gave it any gas it wanted to die but caught itself afterwards. It's very different from how it was a couple months ago when it was warmer outside. The logs show that the AFRs are better during, what I assume, is warmup enrichment. Because it's cold, and air is more dense, should I work on the enrichment bit?
