Driving Without an Exhaust

I ordered a new catback, test pipe, and front pipe for my r32 GTR. After taking the cat and the catback off I am unable to get the stock front pipe off. I am planning on bringing it to a shop to swap the front pipes.

Is it safe to drive a shop and back that is 35km away with only a front pipe on and nothing after it?

Safe for the engine? sure, for the underbody? might get a bit hot and covered in soot.. for your ears? hell no, for arrive without getting pulled over and defected? hell no

I have to leave at least the tailpipe off until my new exhaust comes in because the baffle came apart in this one and clogged the muffler

Yeah I’m most concerned about heat damage in the underbody

You won't make it 35k without someone calling cops and getting you pulled over. Just tow the thing will be cheaper than the fine you get.

Or get a mobile mechanic to take your front pipe off.

My front two bolts fell out one hot day and I was 100km from home - it was probably the one area I never checked or redid beforehand during my ownership - it was a Sunday arvo so the only thing open was Bunnings....I drove it approx. 5 km there and put some new builders nuts and bolts on without a gasket as a temporary fix to get me home.

That drive was bloody terrible, loud, hot, conspicuous and felt like I was gunna get defected at any minute.  I hated it.  So don't, ok, just don't.

The laws is aus different? I ran 3inch blast pipes on my rb25det for 2 years never got pulled over it was insane loud also and open wastegate.
