I have a 1996 R33 rb25det

I have searched everywhere and I see a lot of topics on this but nothing has really helped me

First off I was having idle issues on start up. It was sitting around 500rpm so I changed my. Bov back to recirc starts good now. But still sitting around 700 which is fine..

But hadn't fixed properly. I'm still having problems coming to an intersection sounds like it's idle hunting. And it'll drop back down to 0 then bounce back up. I just have to keep the revs up to stop it from dieing.

I've cleaned the iacv and adjustig the screw and that didn't do anything at all I've checked for vac leaks and nothing. My thought was maybe the maf but that's sweet.

If anyone can help will be appreciated.

Thanks:)

Hi Kaden,
When I had this exact problem in my 33 I cleaned the IACV and adjusted the TPS. (I had already given her fresh plugs, serviced the air filter and cleaned the AFM etc to eliminate anything else) In the end I put some tape around the IACV screw and then adjusted accordingly and finally she retained her idle after a lot of perseverance.....hoping this may be of assistance.

May I ask?

What did the tape do?

I mean I've tried adjusting it doesn't seem to change anything. also which way did you turn it?

I probably should say it has new slpitfire coil packs and new spark plugs also. But that shouldn't be a problem. it's the same set up as my mate had and he never had a problem.

    • Thanks Mate, I did know you could do that but i know there is a pump out there that you can bolt on and it all lines up. I was told about it and then forgot the model, I figure if i am pulling it apart i will just put a new one on
    • You can also remove the veins from the HICAS portion of your existing pump.
