Dylannn
Hey Finally got my RB30 block & crank back from machinist and it is now time to start assembling Long story short, I've got Nitto I beams and Nitto 86.5mm DOHC pistons going into the block, and I am just wondering if I am able to reuse the main bearing bolts that go through the girdle to hold the crank in place or if I should get new ones? Due to the expense of the build I am leaning towards getting new ones but I am struggling to find a suitable aftermarket replacement? Planning on calling Nissan tomorrow and getting a price on new ones and I will update post Regards, Dylan Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/480907-main-bearing-bolt-reuse-or-replace/ Share on other sites

Unzipped Composites
Yeh go ARP main studs. And then make sure your machinist has a line bore machine and will actually line bore the tunnel properly. So many try to get away with not machining the parting faces, which is essentially the same as not doing the job at all. My tunnel was 2 thou out of round with the ARP studs, so needed 6 thou taken off the parting faces to take it back to the bottom limit and get it round again. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/480907-main-bearing-bolt-reuse-or-replace/#findComment-7937654 Share on other sites
