What happens with the actual delivery? Assuming it gets through customs without getting any extra duty slapped on it, does it get delivered to your door and left there? Or do you have to sign for the package?

LTS Jayce - Did you get hit with any customs fees/taxs? or haven't your turbos arrived in the country yet. I ordered a pair of GT-SS turbos in a kit and was wondering if I was going to get hit with the additional costs from customs?

Anyone had similar experiences? getting through customs as opposed to paying?

(not sure i should be asking this on forums actually). PM me with replies to that question maybe)

The last time FMIC arrived, I had to pay custom charges.

Basically it was sent via EMS, and Customs sent me a custom tax and duty assessment notice, that I have to pay at the post office when collecting my

item. Without paying it the post office won't release my item.

So I paid that, signed in the post office book and they gave me my package.

It's as simple as that. If there are no custom charges, then you just get a

notice to pick up your item from the post office, you'll have to sign in for every

EMS parcel, because it has tracking numbers.

whats the go with english instructions and warranty??? is there a full Australian warranty (ie a workshop that has some sort of affiliation with Nengun in Australia) or am i stuck sending stuff back to Japan for claims??

Mearcat, i think there'll always be a risk to get things lost in the mail. but with EMS, it should be generally pretty safe as parcels have tracking numbers. Even when my FMIC was inspected by custom, every single bolt included were still complete inside the package when I received it. If you want an absolute 100% then you'd have to bring it over by yourself and not letting it out of your sight.

ido09s, unfortunately that is one of the woes in buying things from overseas. depending on what is covered by local distributor, buying say a HKS product not through australian distributorship may not cover you for any warranty. you might have to send it back to japan to do that. however some local distributor may honour your warranty providing you can produce an invoice. best check with local distributors about this.

My turbos haven't been sent as yet.Normally,I'd be getting worried as it was about six weeks ago that I paid for them, but Brent @ Nengun assures me that Japan has had some public holidays that have strung things out quite a bit.Maybe I'm being too trusting, but from all this thread has produced,I'm believing him that it's outta his hands! As for customs,I'm kinda expecting to get slugged...but,even with all that extra on top,Nengun should still save me in excess of $2,000...which I'll just wind up spending with them, anyway!

i am in the same boat as you LTSJayce as i paid for a couple things from nengun about 7 weeks ago. One has already been delivered and i am syill waiting for the other to arrive.

i also heard that there were some public holidays over there so i assumed it would take a little longer. There is no harm in asking the delay though and brent is always willing to reply to any questions you ask from my expierence.

I ordered a apexi pfc + boost controller - they sent me an ems number - I was unsure of whether it was the engine management number or what?? sounds like it's a shipping number so it must be on its way??

Was only a week and a half ago - emailed them but no reply - so it's definatly a shipping number and the products are on their way?

Im in a bit of a predicament. I have had my motor rebuilt and it is sitting beside the car waiting to go back in. However I am awaiting the arrival of the turbos for fitment before that happens.

I emails Brent yesterday and today and have recieved no reply. I have had the car off the road for a few months at the workshop getting the motor done. Now I just need this order to come through and cannot get a response. Order is paid for and Nengun acknowledges the payment.

EMS is the tracking number you can track your parcel once its in the air here:

I also have ordered some parts 4 weeks ago and have not received them. However, Brent is a well trusted supplier/trader on these forums and is obviously just backlogged with part deliveries coupled with delays from suppliers because of the obon festival in Japan.

I have ordered previously from Nengun in Feb this year and parts were delivered in 5-7days straight to the door. I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt here guys!!

As long as we get our parts before the next Obon fesitval that is! hehe

Chill Out guys,

Brent carn't do anything untill he recieves the automotive part from his supplier in Japan, but as soon as he recieves the parcel he send's them straight away.

I've purchased a Tomei head gasket from brent and its arrived in 3 days after shipping.

A lot of PARALELL imported parts and kits are not covered with a warrenty in AUS if bought in Japan, it is a sore point with the main stream importers and the back yarders.

I cant see them honouring a warrenty on a part thet importer didnt make anything on.

Thanks Denton 33 for the info on the tracking number - I didn't know what it was and no reply from my emails. They probably have hundreds of them (emails) coming through so don't have time to answer. I'll look on the site you gave me - thanks!

I just received an email back from brent just now. He said he will be back in Japan on the 12th of September.

Its just handy to know whats going on when you have thousands of dollars in another country (my first order from nengun). I have had problems with other companies in the past and fret whenever im not in the know.

Just to add my expreience to this thread. Nengun (Brent) has given me the best service I've had so far. I previously owned a pulsar GTI-R and spent around $10K on aftermarket parts from various places, but have never received service as good as I got from Brent. I ordered a part from him at a very cheap price, it arrived promptly but was slightly damaged (had a small crack), even though you had to look very hard to see the crack, Brent accepted that I wasn't happy with my new item being damaged and straight away had another one sent from Japan, which arrived quickly and without damage. So DRIFTT in this case I don't think it's fair to say that he wont honour warranty because of his slim margins. In my example the part retails in Sydney for $195, I paid less than half that INCLUDING FREIGHT, so he most certainly would have made a loss on our transaction to keep me happy, as a result he has a loyal customer who'll spend many more dollars with him...smart man :(

Richard

great post mmmgtir

brent is a great guy, always professional whilst still being friendly

hes an australian with ALOT of experience in japan

Ive ordered a few things like Intercooler, AVCR... Both arrived perfectly, a hell of a lot cheaper than u can buy here and all within 2 weeks

I've found brent's service great, but sometimes forgets emails.

I have been trying to get an order out to him all week, but haven't got a reply all week

Need them parts, fistfulls of cash (well, not really fistfulls), but no reply
