040 or 044

hey guys, i can get both pumps for the same price, so which one is better?

i know the 044 flows more, but would it be better for the gtr?

Keep in mind id like to eventually do some serious upgrades to the gtr further down the track.

If they're the same price, there's little reason not to go with the 044. It'll be a bit harder to fit because it's wider, but not fundamentally so.

i went for a 044 anyway!

I hope it was an external mount pump you were after, than an in-tank pump. Cos an external pump may not work right if you try & mount it in the tank. You may not get good fuel flow & get air in the system. External mount pumps are designed to be mounted below the level of the bottom of the fuel tank, using gravity & siphoning effects to feed them properly.

No problems mounting 040 or 044 internally.

well, i was thinking about sticking it in tank, but i might just use it externally, with a surge tank. anyone know where i can get a cheap surge tank from?

There are usually some in the For Sale forums. Btw, the 044 is LOUD when used externally. You might want to have a listen to someone else's setup before you do the same.

ive read they are loud only when they are bolted directly to metal etc, but if you use a bit of rubber between them and the braket they arnt as loud.

i may be wrong?
