maddy400r33
Totally standard r33 gtst. Can anyone advise on what position needles should point, on initial startup, for turbo and twmperature Reason is changed dials to UK spec mph, turbo dial is off, and temperature is not lifting? Everything else seems ok. Had photos and video before i started, phone died a horrible death. Need to know what the turbo needle should register at on startup, and what temperature sits at normal running temp, stationary. Cant think of any other way of doing this? trel
When you turn key to ON position turbo needle sits almost centre, on idle should be close to the -7, ever so slightly past it. My temp gauge reads 1/4 to 1/3 normally. OEM temp gauges are buffered so that they should read pretty much halfway from about 60° to about 120°. I'll test my sender if that's the case, my car has always read low. maddy400r33
Thanks, thats great, cheers Trel, and GTS boy. Normally watch gauges more than the road, but have only driven this car 2 or 3 times, and its been nearly a year, plus phone died and lost video and photos id taken for reference. 21 hours ago, trel said: When you turn key to ON position turbo needle sits almost centre, on idle should be close to the -7, ever so slightly past it. That gives me a starting point, so what happens at higher revs, when turbo is 0, what revs roughly? And what revs at 7+. 21 hours ago, GTSBoy said: OEM temp gauges are buffered so that they should read pretty much halfway from about 60° to about 120°. Guessing fan cuts in below 120˚, will try and get it as close as possible, using a backup to calibrate it, roughly. I was so careful removing needles, can see what happened. trel
At 0 your in positive, depends how heavy your foot is. 7+ is never reached unless you're running higher than stock boost about 14psi, in which case that gauge is useless anyway. I tested my sender with my multi. and it checks out as functioning normally. As for my temp gauge it sits just slightly under half for me, 1/3 I would say which is normal, on a hotter day 30+ it sits very close to half and stays there. Plenty of videos on YouTube with gauges for your reference anyway. Good luck.
