Or you could measure it yourself and know exactly what it is ? Heard of a threadfile ? You'll be able to tell what pitch it is and clean it up with that.

I unfortunately don't have one, but it is something i will be putting on order for the future. Thank you for your advice. as for a thread file, I tried to fix it with a normal one to get the nut back on and did not go to plan. If i cant fix it with a tap and die set i will most likely have to get a new axel.
