Next few weeks i will be buying either a HKS2535 turbo or a HKS GT-Rs turbo, still deciding. If anyone could clarify the following:

1) Do these bolt on to standard manifold?

2) To they use the existing oil/water lines or they have to be changed?

3) Is this an easy job swapping the turbos, just bolt on and off?

4) what fuel pump is better bosch 044 or 040? whats the diff between these, what power can they support (i am after 240-270 rwkw)

finally i cant afford injectors at the moment, so is it possible with the fuel pump installed and power FC tune can i run low boost like 10 psi to keep it safe temporarily with standard injectors??

Thanks! Will post up results when done!

1) Yes it bolts to the standard exhaust manifold if you get the correct application for your car. I assume youve got a R33 GTST??? The dump pipe should line up too.

2) I believe the existing oil and water lines need to be changed.

3) Seems like its easy, havent done it yet

4) Dont know about the fuel pump, both sound good.

Yes, run it at lower boost so you dont run the stock injectors out.

2535 will be running out of flow at 240, gtrs will be running out at 270.

Last i checked the gtrs was only available with a t25 flange (rb25det uses t3) and i think wrx applications were just coming available. The 2535 is available as a bolt up option which really only means that the dump and exhaust manifold will line up, you may get lucky and find that some of the oil and water lines will fit with a bit of bending.

If all the lines can be made to fit you can do the job in less than a day if you have a bit of mechanical aptitude and get a few bits like gasket kits in advance. It's not a hard job as the turbo to manifold nuts are easily accessable. You may need to fabricate a compressor outlet pipe (i'm unsure if the 2535 matches the rb25 compressor outlet)

I think the 040 will be touch and go at over 250rwkw and is rated a fair bit less than the 044. 044 would be fine.

Yes the car can be run at low boost safely, just make sure you can resist the temptation to up the boost till you fit injectors and tune.

Bosch 044 pump is 330 litres per hour and supports 730 bhp at 73.5 PSI (that's ~500 rwkw)

Bosch 040 pump is 235 litres per hour and supports 520 bhp at 73.5 PSI (that's ~340 rwkw)

Standard GTR pump is 190 litres per hour and supports 420 bhp at standard pressure (that's ~265 rwkw)

Standard GTST pump is 135 litres per hour and supports 300 bhp at standard pressure (that's ~175 rwkw)

Hope that helps :)
