Hi everyone im after some advice on engine management for my rb20

I am thinking of going for a powerfc and if one presents itself int he near future for a good price ill take it, but it may take a while. As result im looking at other options.

I can go full programmable aftermarket such as wolf, powerfc etc but i am not looking for huge figures so perhaps its money i could spend elsewhere. Im only really looking in the regions of 200rwkw.

I currently have a Blitz access which im a bit sketchy about as i can find pretty much NO information on them. Its currently running ok with stock injectors, GTR pump, malpassi regulator and rb25 turbs. I want to run bigger inectors as im in need of new injectors anyway, although i dont belive the blitz can cator for these. would it be possible to run the blitz with an S-AFC to accomodate for bigger injectors?

The other option would be to get a stock ecu rewritten.

sorry for the large post hope you can wade through it ok

Ultimately i would love to be able to work with the blitz if its possible so im hoping there is an option there

cheers............Tim

then nick it off.... as nobody else is going to know about it either. unfortunate, but maybe true.

using an S-AFC to compensate for larger injectors really isn't going to work fantastically. you can't set injector pulse information, proper ignition timing for load, and other things that are ECU controlled.

I'd stick with the stock ecu, and get it chipped to suit. Sell the Blitz ecu, might be able to swap someone with a stock ecu and get a bit of cash for it, and get the stock ecu chipped

200rwkw is within the limits if stock injectors, I'd say cleaning yours would be much cheaper than getting replacemnt larger injectors!

With the regualtor you have, 200rwkw with the stock injectors will be fine.

Power Fc's are niether cheap or readily available locally. I have looked into pretty well every plug in option, the Wolf and Microtech products seem to be great ( depends on whos pushing the buttons to tune it ) and they all do the job.

If 200rwkw is all your after, the stock ecu/injectors are fine, and your turbo would jjjuuussttt be capable of getting to around 200rwkw anyhow

I will have my stock re-written ECU for sale soon, that is tuned for 200rwkw at 0.9 - 1.0 on 98 octane fuel with a 8200rpm rev limit if you are keen? No boost cut either :D so with a reg I reckon you could squeze 220rwkw out of it with the right turbo

This is how I look at it -

Injector clean ~ $350-400

Re-chipped ECU ~ $200-400

+ boost for around 190rwkw with a RB25 turbo for around $700-800

or Power FC ~ $1500

Tune ~ $400

+ boost for around 190rwkw with a RB25 turbo for around $1900 for essentially the same result except you have a fully tunable computer

If your plans are for a bigger turbo in the future, then perhaps look at saving for a programmable ecu

Keep in mind Clint32 managed to squeeze almost 240rwkw out of his RB20 with stock injectors and fuel pressure, his injectors where cleaned as well which helps a bit. His car ran a 12.8 at about 113mph too, so it was a very powerful setup with the stock injectors! From memory he had a 044 pump as well

Hope that helps,

Chris
