Hi guys, I have a redtop Rb20det. The engine was hesitating on idle and stalling. Found that there was a leak on the butterfly plate on the manifold. I’ve tried looking at places that can fix this part and even tried looking for the part but haven’t had any luck. What can I do?

any help will be appreciated

Suspect it’s leaking or has failed from the shaft. The shaft that the butterfly flaps sit on has a lot of play (sideways). Can the butterfly plate be removed and the intake be run without it?

sorry new to RB world, thanks!

No. The butterfly is the throttle. It is the one and only control you have over how much air enters the engine and thus how fast you go.

A fuel injection/carby specialist should be able to fix it for you. Would probably need bearings and/or seals.
