hi all,

i just installed a new bumper, and need to wire up the indicators. i have a series 2 r33, and kept one of the old broken blinkers/foggies.

It has a plug with 3 wires coming out of it to the bulb.

Pink

Green

Black

Im alright with electronics, but know F all when it comes to car electrics. Can anyone tell me what color does what? I'm assuming Black is ground, and pink and green drive either the indicator or foglights.

There seems to be another black wire in the mix, but i dont know what its for. it isnt connected to the bulb i have here. My mechanic wanted to charge me the shop rate to install it, but if i can save myself the cash would be great.

Other question is whether it would be possible to get the plug from Nissan or Repco etc. Be easier to wire up the new lights in the house, and just plug into the old sockets.

Getting under the car to splice the wires is going to be a real pain in the azz. In which case is there a special type of wire i need? i have an old cord from an Iron with me. Also have some PVC tape. Is this safe to use outside in the wet etc?

And just to prove my newbieness, are these bulbs polarized or doesnt it matter which wire i plug in where. eg, no cathode/anode stuff. Nothing on the packaging.

Any help appreciated.

update:

ok, just had a quick look outside, managed to get the side winker off. it looks to be black and green.

judging as how the socket/plug has 3 terminals, im assuming the pink drives the foglights, and they both share the black wire as a common earth.

cant get at the wires in the dark at the moment, so will have to eyeball it during the day. i guess i can always look at the one i salvaged. any ideas if these are common part?
