R Chassis brake line fittings

Hi all,

Considering going to R33 GTS-t brakes on my S13. Does anyone know what the fitting is into the caliper? Is it an M10 male fitting with a female inverted flare?

I will be buying braided brake lines to suit however i may upgrade to GTR brembos in the future and would be good if i could keep the same braided lines, are GTR the same fitting as GTS-t?

There's no difference in the fluid inlet fitting on any R chassis Sumitomo 4 piston caliper. R32, Z32, R33, R34, RWD, GTR. All same same.

Um, I think so. Google up some photos. There's plenty of threads here and elsewhere where people have documented working with the lines and calipers with photos showing sufficient closeups to eliminate doubt.

Brembo & Sumitomo 4 pot calipers use the same fitting.

FWIW when I installed S15 4 pistons on my 180SX I just reused the OEM line but removed the olive inside.

For added braking capacity, install R34 GT-t brakes. They use the DB1170 pad (same as S14/15/R32/33) but run on 310mm rotors.

I can attest to this. I've been from R32, through 33 and now 34. 34 definitely better. More braking torque, more mass, more good. But note that they are 14mm threads and you need to deal with that via one of several means.

Some aftermarket braided brake lines use a banjo fitting into the caliper and some use a male fitting with inverted female seat, do the calipers have a flat sealing surface for a crush washer to be used with a banjo bolt?

they do as I use banjo & washer on my fronts with no problems
