Primer options for DIY dummy

I’m in the process of restoring my boot and have removed most of the rust. What are my options when it comes to primer? I’d prefer something inexpensive and easy to work with, as I do not have any tools and will need to source everything.

Try not to over think it, pop into your local automotive paint supplier and ask them the question. By the sounds of things you'll be using rattle cans, they'll probably only have a couple of options anyway. They can tell you if option a or option b is better suited for you.
