Why is the APEXI AVC-R BOOST CONTROLLER so much?

Been looking at buying an Electronic Boost Controller, howcome the:

APEXI AVC-R BOOST CONTROLLER (around $900) is so expensive? When you can just get a Powerdigger EBC (around $250)

And an SAFC II which controls Fuel is worth around $600.

Yeh but why does a 'boost controller' cost more then an 'AFC'???

supply an demand maybe?? it does have a damn lot more features compaired to other EBC, inejctor duty cycle measuring ... fail safes etc so prevent and manage your boost more efficently ....

at a guess because the avcr is an pressure sensor/controller and an electronic controller unit. the apexi safc is just a electronic controller unit, it has no sensors or pressure values as far as i know, i guess the cost is in the boost solenoid itself. the safc i believe simply taps into the airflow meter values and tricks the ecu into thinking its less the avc-r uses the solenoid to control and regulate boost pressure

The solenoid duty cycle of an AVCR also brings on your boost far more quickly and far more reliably than any other boost controller.
