Need a hand. I was about to start redoing my stock wiring harness for my elite 2500/P&P adaptor and can't seem to find a wiring diagram that shows what pin on the elite is connected to what pin on the stock ecu harness with the adaptor.

The Haltech adaptor wiring diagram only shows from the elite connector to connector going into ecu adaptor and not on stock ecu connector which in my opinion is useless. I know I can just presume what pin it is on based on the descriptions or test them one by one but this wiring diagram must surely already exist?

Thanks

then use this to work out what you need, nicely colour coded too:

Thanks a lot! That's a lot more complete then what I found. Cheers.

I struggle to see your problem. The stock ECU pinout diagram exists. Simply hold it up next to the Haltech one and ... presto?

Nissan R32-R34 ecu pinout's don't show all pin connections with the elite 2500. One example of this is Pin 113 which is usually a "N/C" but is connected to Pin B17 on Elite 2500. Pin B17 is surprisingly not even mentioned in the Haltech adaptor manual.

That makes for a spare DPO or ignition driver that I can use pinning directly into the stock ecu connector. It also doesn't show which grounds are jumped within the adaptor, etc.

Cheers.

That's correct, there are a few pins that are not used from the Haltech that are randomly pinned into the plug/play adaptor and there are some pins that supposedly should be in series from one plug to other is actually non existent lol..

I just depinned them and connected it straight onto my own harness (Haltech -> own harness) - less mucking about.

I just wrapped up buzzing each pin and wow I see what you mean. I was rather surprised by a few oddities found. I'll toss it all into an excel and post it here at some point this week.

I suppose the two best options are (in cost order):

  1. Pin the Haltech Elite direct to your OEM harness, i.e. delete the plug & play adaptor & OEM connector
  2. New harness, mil-spec dis dat, IG fame.

I'm sticking with the P&P harness but I agree with option #1. I have a feeling most unconnected wires can be solved with an undocumented jumper setup within the adaptor. I'll report back once confirmed.

    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
    • Ah yep. The main message I want to pass on is, try not to get scared of ghosts when thinking about knock/knock detection.  What I mean is, healthy engines make noise. Knock is also noise. Your knock sensor and ECU combo are trying to determine bad noise from good noise based on how loud the noise is. The factory knock sensors and ECU are not good at doing this.  Modern ECU's are pretty decent at it, however I'd still say that you would want to verify that if your ECU says it's knock, that you actually listen to it and confirm that it is correct.  Are you familiar with the plex knock monitor?  https://www.plex-tuning.com/products/plex-knock-monitor-v3/ I expect you're the type of person that would be very keen to play with something like this. It is great knock detection and you can pop some headphones on and listen to what's going on.  Knock that you've deliberately induced in low load low RPM areas is not really putting anything at risk and is a great tuning/learning/verification tool.  I just thought this was worth mentioning based on the way you were talking about setting up a base map and the Haltech base map settings. There are better ways to spend your time then chasing ghosts and worrying about detonation in scenarios that it is crazy unlikely to encounter it.  I was also wondering, what ECU are you planning to get? Will it be long til you pick it up?
