Is there a stand alone ecu for the 08 370gt?

Out of interest, why do you want an stand alone ECU. Uprev will allow you to load up to 5 tunable maps into the factory ECU.

If not, it is likely any good aftermarket ECU can be wired in. I'm not sure on the motor or it's needs in that car but I guess it will need to support twin e throttles, quad fully variable cam timing but otherwise pretty nothing tricky. You also need to consider transmission control if it is auto

the car im looking at has uprev but only has 1 map put on. my 08 car that has just been hit has a moded ecu from a 2015 g37 & ecutek. but looking to see what eles is out there yeah the car is 7 speed auto

Auto support is uncommon in aftermarket.

I can't see why uprev wouldn't do everything you need. I have 2 uprev-ed cars (Titan and Fuga) and have only ever used the primary tuned maps (the others are intended to cover fuel economy over performance, valet mode, standard, towing but to me it's a bit of a gimmick).

If you need a display, there are various options for ODB readers, I use Greedy Informeter.

yeah think it needs more looking into. i know when i looked at tuning my last car it would only take a single map on uprev

Easy to do as Duncan has said.
our tuner needs to enable ARC feature pack which is around $100-150 on top of your original Uprev licence which allows 5 maps, basic igntion table tuning table and various other features (burnout mode and Launch control).

Syvecs do a plug in and is around $6k plus install & tune. Can control the auto box.

what i think its down to if you don't have curse control is how do you you change map setting's on uprev

yeah according to uprev that is an issue if you don't have it (I assumed everything would....)

they recommend adding cruise control buttons from another model of the same car, as most have the wiring in place.

but like I said above, I've only ever changed maps to test that I could, I'm not sure of the day to day value?

I am hoping to one day add cruise control, and its a toss up between the stock steering wheel controls or the added 3rd party buttons.

What is it you mean by "another model of the same car"? do you mean getting the steering controls from a US Infinity G37? or is there another AUS delivered vehicle that has the same steering wheel?

So, I'm assuming you have a v37 skyline  and OP was talking about m35 stagea. I don't know specifics for either.  The uprev site says

However, I have no idea if there is some incompatibility you need to consider specific to your model, and in the case of v37 it looks like you probably need a radar cruise control unit for the front bumper as well. 

If you want this for uprev maps, I'd simply suggest contacting them as they will have first hand experience or know someone who does. If you are looking for factory cruise when you don't have it, I guess that will be a bit of a learning curve

And I would not look at doing the uprev flash as part of getting cruise control. And the Radar controlled cruise control is well beyond what I was thinking about.

I am assuming the Uprev path would be well over the 1k-1.4k with stearing controls, for a simple cruise control?

I have looked into this a little bit & I’ll share what I have learned.

 

You can get cruise control buttons & steering wheel surround from the US to enable map switching. That does not give you actual cruise control. You still need the actual cruise control box for ~$1000

 

I have also heard of first gen 370gt’s not having enough memory to store multiple maps. Options were to either find a later model ecu or ship the original ecu to the US for modification

Surely it is acceptable to just wire in some buttons hidden in a small enclosure in the glovebox/console/wherever to provide the map switching without having to swap in a steering wheel??

Just hijack the loom wiring that is supposed to go to the steering wheel buttons and reroute/extend as required.

Yes the 08 cars don't have the memory that's why you can't run ecutrk on the 08 cars. I may have to send to ecu of to the USA if I buy that car

You don’t have to swap the steering wheel. Just swap the plastic surround to accomodate the extra cruise control buttons
