Hey guys i have an rb25det in my 260z datto. Im upto the stage of working out the intake. Ive bought an r35 MAF and am going the blow through route, mounting it after the intercooler before the throttle body in 3” piping. I have 2 main questions….
1. Do you think installing an air straightener (honeycomb) before the MAF will have a notable advantage? Anyone know of an Australian seller? Everything seems to be overseas…

2. When mounting the sensor is there any advantage of mounting it in a certain angle? For example mounting it on the opposite side of pipe after the air goes around a bend. Hopefully that makes sense?

A honeycomb will help if you can't put it in a "good" spot.

A "good" spot will be as far downstream from a previous bend as possible.

In reality, it really doesn't matter much either way, because whatever the velocity distribution across the pipe, you just tune to the reading of the meter anyway. It's not as if we're measuring grams per second of air flow here. We're just measuring % between minimum and maximum and injecting fuel to make the exhaust O2 correct.
