Hi Team

Hoping someone can help me.
When I go to start my car up, I get a blue smoke puffing out on idle. On both cold and hot starts.
When I go to accelerate the car, I also get blue smoke puffing out as well. (quite alot which then gets followed by black smoke , which I understand is fuel)
I have also done a compression test and I get 150psi on each cylinder except cyl 4 which reads 145psi
Have been told that it might potentially be the turbo and have been told that when oil pushes past the seals, you might get some oil by the intercooler hose so best to check, which I have and it looks spotless clean. Also turbo is still responsive and makes power.

Starting to run out of ideas here, any idea what someone can recommend to me? I have also purchased the stop oil leak from Lucas which hasnt helped at all..

Regards

If it does it a bit worse on overrun, then it is likely to be valve stem seals.

As turbo seals - there are two possible leak paths. 1) Out to the compressor, which goes to the engine and should get burnt, mostly cleanly, and 2) Out to the exhaust housing, which then burns in the exhaust and will make more smoke.

Further, compression rings make compression. Oil control rings stop oil moving up in the chamber. It is possible to have damaged oil control rings and still have decent compression rings.
