R33 GTR VSpec Attessa Bleeding Issue

Anyone had this issue before?:

i was trying to bleed the attessa (r33 gtr vspec) and the strange issue that I have is that the bleed mode of the pump does not work. Ive done it 2 years ago and it was working. so when i disconnect the white connector under the dash the pump only starts if i turn ignition on, but when opening the bleeders it wont start on loss of pressure. if the connector is connected the pump won't do anything no matter what.

also strange is that there is only very little fluid coming through the diff bleeder, as there is no pressure. On the other hand there is good pressure on the transfercase bleeder.

I have no ECU connected, never touched any wiring on the attessa sytem and fluid level is ok.

I'm not sure I understand. When checking the factory service manual it explicitly says you must have the ignition switch on in order to have the pump run. Have you checked for codes on the ATTESA unit? I wonder if your pressure switch is working as intended. The bleeder mode is super simple, just running the pump to reach target pressure and switching off once it does. I'm pretty sure you don't need anything from the ECU either. Lack of fluid flow in your diff might be something clogged in the system but I haven't tried bleeding a known good system yet to see how much fluid should come out.

yes IGN was on when trying it and I also know how the bleed mode should work. My problem is that the pump wont turn on if I open the bleeder. Normally I should give it 1 sec blurps to bleed but it simply does not do anything when I open any bleeder.

Where can I see codes on the attessa unit? like directly on the unit in the trunk?

clogging shouldnt be an issue as the system was not taken apart. i only diconnected the line to the back of the trans as I had the engine out for a rebuild.

Codes should blink out on the control unit in the trunk yes. You might be able to try and ground terminal 4 on the Consult connector without the engine running to get the codes to blink out, or maybe it'll just do it regardless of whether any terminals are jumpered: https://sites.google.com/site/tyndago/gt-rattesainfrormation

I would also try and see what's going on with your pressure switch with a multimeter.

    • Hi there, after a quick google search I found this topic as I am also relocating the battery to the boot of my 1998 GTT. I was just wondering how you got on with installing the re-routing and specifically the installing of the harness protectors? How do they attach? Are they just a simple "click-in" affair, or do they attach with bolts? Does the GTT have all the necessary fixing holes for them, for example, where they locate on the chassis? Any help you can provide would greatly appreciated.
    • Thanks mate, yeah I've heard that alot and i am definitely regretting using the 25 Loom now, i have gone through and traced all the plugs from the 20loom and re wired them into the 25 loom, I have currently got Crank, Fuel and accessory's working, just need to finalise the loom and run the wire for the Ignition (Spark) and it should be running, will update if i have any luck.
    • Cheers lad, when I head over there I'll give it a shot.
    • Stock less likely to carry one like that than urethane, but still can, especially if the bolts are not as tight as they should be. If it's making that much noise you should be able to use a hose as a stethoscope> stick one end in your ear, crouch down and wave it around the various possible noise makers and get someone to lift the front end at the guard lip.
    • Broken actuator rod. Could be one of a couple of them broken. Or, it's locked and the central locking actuator is broken/stuck or the actuator rods between it, the lock and the key barrel are jammed or broken similarly. You'll probably need a locksmith/mechanic who is experienced with using slim tools to reach down next to the window glass to manipulate the mechanism. That's assuming that it is not so severely jammed/broken that nothing useful will move.
